Abstract

This disclosure describes multi-fluid kits for three-dimensional printing, three-dimensional printing kits, and systems for three-dimensional printing. In one example, a multi-fluid kit for three-dimensional printing can include a fusing agent and a detailing agent. The fusing agent can include water and metal oxide nanoparticles dispersed therein. The metal oxide nanoparticles can be selected from titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, cerium oxide, indium tin oxide, or a combination thereof. The metal oxide nanoparticles can have an average particle size from about 2 nm to about 500 nm. The detailing agent can include a detailing compound.

Claims (15)

1 . A multi-fluid kit for three-dimensional printing, comprising:

a fusing agent consisting of:

water;

metal oxide nanoparticles dispersed in the water, the metal oxide nanoparticles selected from the group consisting of titanium dioxide nanoparticles, zinc oxide nanoparticles, cerium oxide nanoparticles, and a combination thereof, wherein the metal oxide nanoparticles have an average particle size ranging from about 2 nm to about 500 nm; and

optionally, at least one additive selected from the group consisting of a dispersant, a co-solvent, a surfactant, a biocide, and a sequestering agent; and

a detailing agent comprising a detailing compound.

2 . The multi-fluid kit of claim 1 , wherein the metal oxide nanoparticles are present in the fusing agent in an amount ranging from about 0.5 wt % to about 30 wt %.

3 . The multi-fluid kit of claim 1 , further comprising a colored agent separate from the fusing agent and the detailing compound, the colored agent comprising water and a colorant.

4 . The multi-fluid kit of claim 1 , wherein the metal oxide nanoparticles consist of metal oxide nanoparticles having an average particle size ranging from greater than 10 nm to about 500 nm.

5 . The multi-fluid kit of claim 1 , wherein the metal oxide nanoparticles consist of metal oxide nanoparticles having an average particle size ranging from about 50 nm to about 60 nm.

6 . The multi-fluid kit of claim 1 , wherein the detailing compound is a solvent that evaporates at a temperature ranging from about 90° C. to about 200° C.

7 . The multi-fluid kit of claim 1 , wherein the co-solvent is selected from the group consisting of 2-pyrrolidinone, N-methylpyrrolidone, 2-hydroxyethyl-2-pyrrolidone, 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, tetraethylene glycol, 1,6-hexanediol, 1,5-hexanediol, and 1,5-pentanediol.

8 . The multi-fluid kit of claim 1 , wherein the surfactant is selected from the group consisting of a liponic ester and sodium dodecylsulfate.

9 . The multi-fluid kit of claim 1 , wherein the metal oxide nanoparticles are the titanium dioxide nanoparticles.

10 . The multi-fluid kit of claim 9 , wherein the titanium dioxide nanoparticles have an average particle size ranging from about 50 nm to about 60 nm.
