Air odor removal system and toilet bowl plate with sewage plumbing attachment for a toilet assembly
View Patent ↗An air odor removal system with sewage or septic plumbing attachment removes odors from a toilet assembly by having a conduit surrounding the opening of a toilet bowl and another conduit fluidly coupling the opening of the toilet bowl with an air mover, e.g., vacuum, wherein the air mover will remove air within the toilet bowl and, in some embodiments, the toilet tank, which typically includes a negative odor, and transfer said air and odor, through another conduit, to a one-way valve of a sewage plumbing conduit, typically referred to as an air admittance valve for discharge.
1 . An air odor removal system with sewage plumbing attachment for a toilet assembly comprising:
a toilet bowl having a partial enclosure defining a structural cavity and an upper opening;
a toilet framing structure coupled to the toilet bowl, surrounding the upper opening, defining a plurality of intake apertures oriented toward the upper opening, defining an first internal odor conduit in fluid communication with the plurality of intake apertures and fluidly coupled to an intake port of an air mover device operably configured to induce a flow of air within the first internal odor conduit and electrically coupled to a power source, and defining a second internal odor conduit coupled to an exhaust port of the air mover and coupled to a one-way valve, the toilet framing structure of a substantially rigid material spanning from the plurality of intake apertures to the intake port of the air mover device, wrapped around an outside surface of a toilet tank and having squared tubing:
coupled to a wall surface with one or more fasteners;
including an upright portion relative to a portion of the toilet framing structure surrounding the upper opening that includes a tube coupled thereto and configured to be disposed in a toilet tank and fluidly coupled to the first internal odor conduit; and
including a portion extending downwardly from the portion of the toilet framing structure surrounding the upper opening and spanning toward the air mover device; and
a sewage plumbing conduit assembly fluidly coupled to a sink and a sewage storage, the sewage plumbing conduit assembly having the one-way valve mechanically and fluidly coupled thereto and the one-way valve operably configured to selectively fluidly couple the sewage plumbing conduit assembly with the second internal odor conduit when a pressure gradient is exposed on the one-way valve, wherein the air mover is operably configured to remove air from the structural cavity and transport the air through the upper opening, the plurality of intake apertures, the first and second internal odor conduits, and through the one-way valve to the sewage plumbing conduit assembly upon activation of the air mover.
2 . The air odor removal system according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a toilet seat rotatably coupled to the toilet bowl and configured to flank, with a rim of the toilet bowl, the toilet framing structure that at least partially surrounds the upper opening.
3 . The air odor removal system according to claim 2 , wherein:
the toilet framing structure completely surrounds the upper opening.
4 . The air odor removal system according to claim 3 , wherein:
the plurality of intake apertures are disposed in a tightly, within 3 inches of one another, and uniform spaced configuration with respect to one another.
5 . The air odor removal system according to claim 4 , wherein portion of the toilet framing structure completely surrounding the upper opening further comprises:
an inner surface enclosing the upper opening and defining the plurality of intake apertures.
6 . The air odor removal system according to claim 5 , wherein the inner surface the toilet framing structure is substantially planar.
7 . The air odor removal system according to claim 1 , wherein:
the toilet framing structure completely surrounds the upper opening.
8 . The air odor removal system according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a toilet tank defining a tank cavity; and
a portion of the toilet framing structure coupled with the toilet tank and defining a portion of the first internal odor conduit in fluid communication with the tank cavity.
9 . The air odor removal system according to claim 8 , wherein the toilet tank further comprises:
an elastomeric sealing member defining an upper end of the toilet tank, configured to receive a cover of the toilet tank thereover, and coupled to the portion of the toilet framing structure coupled with the toilet tank.
10 . The air odor removal system according to claim 9 , wherein:
the elastomeric sealing member spans around an upper periphery edge of the toilet tank.
11 . The air odor removal system according to claim 9 , wherein:
the elastomeric sealing member is selectively removably coupled to the upper periphery edge of the toilet tank.
12 . The air odor removal system according to claim 1 , wherein:
the air mover is operably configured to be activated when a handle member on the toilet assembly is modulated.
13 . The air odor removal system according to claim 1 , wherein the sewage plumbing conduit and the one-way valve are mechanically and fluidly coupled with a threaded or push-fit joint and the seal.
14 . The air odor removal system according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a motion sensor operably configured to detect motion at or proximal to the toilet bowl and communicatively coupled to the air mover device, wherein the motion sensor is operably configured, upon detection of a motion event association with motion at or proximal to the toilet bowl, to signal the air mover device to induce the induce the flow of air within the first odor conduit.
15 . The air odor removal system according to claim 14 , wherein the motion sensor signals to the air mover device through at least one of the following: a wire, a wireless transmission, electronically, or digitally.
16 . The air odor system according to claim 1 , wherein the sewage storage comprises:
a septic system, or a sewage system, or both.
17 . The air odor system according to claim 1 , wherein the power source is operable to be electrically coupled to a 120 VAC source or battery power.
18 . The air odor system according to claim 1 , wherein the sewage plumbing conduit includes at least one of the following: a J-trap, a P-trap, an S-trap, an S-bend, and a generally U-shaped pipe.
19 . An air odor removal system with sewage plumbing attachment for a toilet assembly comprising:
a toilet bowl having a partial enclosure defining a structural cavity and an upper opening;
a toilet framing structure:
of a unitary configuration;
including a portion coupled to the toilet bowl, surrounding the upper opening, defining a plurality of intake apertures oriented toward the upper opening, defining an first internal odor conduit in fluid communication with the plurality of intake apertures and fluidly coupled to an intake port of an air mover device operably configured to induce a flow of air within the first internal odor conduit and electrically coupled to a power source;
fluidly coupled to a second internal odor conduit coupled to an exhaust port of the air mover and coupled to a one-way valve;
of a substantially rigid material;
including a portion spanning rearward toward a wall surface and wrapped around an outside surface of a toilet tank; and
including a squared tubing portion:
coupled to the wall surface with one or more fasteners;
extending downwardly from the portion coupled to the toilet bowl;
and spanning toward the air mover device; and
a sewage plumbing conduit assembly fluidly coupled to a sink and a sewage storage, the sewage plumbing conduit assembly having the one-way valve mechanically and fluidly coupled thereto and the one-way valve operably configured to selectively fluidly couple the sewage plumbing conduit assembly with the second internal odor conduit when a pressure gradient is exposed on the one-way valve, wherein the air mover is operably configured to remove air from the structural cavity and transport the air through the upper opening, the plurality of intake apertures, the first and second internal odor conduits, and through the one-way valve to the sewage plumbing conduit assembly upon activation of the air mover.
