Abstract

The disclosed technology includes a semi-automatic crossbow having a stock, a plurality of limbs, a drawstring, a bolt feeder, a barrel, a draw assembly, and a release. The draw assembly can be configured to automatically move the drawstring to a cocked position and the release can include a trigger and be configured to release the drawstring when the trigger is actuated. The disclosed technology can further include a truck configured to engage the drawstring and a bolt such that the bolt can be propelled forward by the truck when the drawstring is released by the release.

Claims (30)

1 . A crossbow comprising:

one or more limbs;

a drawstring connected to the one or more limbs and configured to engage a bolt;

a draw assembly configured to move the drawstring to a cocked position, the draw assembly comprising a truck configured to engage the drawstring and the bolt;

a barrel configured to guide the bolt toward a target when the bolt is fired, the barrel defining a barrel channel configured to receive the truck; and

a bolt magazine attachable to the crossbow and configured to hold a plurality of bolts, the bolt being one of the plurality of bolts;

wherein the truck is configured to:

extend at least partially into the barrel through the barrel channel to engage the bolt, and

slide along a channel extending along a length of the crossbow parallel to the barrel, the truck extending from the channel and into the barrel channel.

2 . The crossbow of claim 1 , wherein the bolt magazine is further configured to direct the bolt of the plurality of bolts to a chamber of the crossbow such that the truck can engage the bolt of the plurality of bolts.

3 . The crossbow of claim 1 , wherein the draw assembly comprises an electric motor configured to move the truck to engage the drawstring and move the drawstring to the cocked position.

4 . The crossbow of claim 1 , wherein the draw assembly comprises a release configured to engage the truck, the release comprising a trigger configured to cause the release to disengage the truck when the trigger is actuated.

5 . The crossbow of claim 4 , the truck being connected to the drawstring, wherein when the drawstring is moved from the cocked position to a fired position, the drawstring transfers an elastic energy from one or more limbs to the truck and the truck transfers at least some of the elastic energy to the bolt.

6 . A crossbow system comprising:

a revolving cylinder configured to hold a plurality of bolts simultaneously, the revolving cylinder defining a plurality of revolving cylinder chambers, each revolving cylinder chamber configured to hold a bolt of the plurality of bolts and defining a chamber channel; and

a draw assembly configured to automatically move a drawstring to a cocked position, the draw assembly configured to cause the revolving cylinder to rotate and position the bolt of the plurality of bolts in a firing position to be propelled by the drawstring, the draw assembly comprising a truck configured to engage the drawstring and the bolt of the plurality of bolts,

wherein each chamber channel is configured to receive at least a portion of the truck such that at least a portion of the truck can pass through a revolving cylinder chamber of the plurality of revolving cylinder chambers to engage the bolt of the plurality of bolts.

7 . The crossbow system of claim 6 , wherein the draw assembly is configured to automatically move the drawstring from a fired position to a cocked position after the bolt has been fired.

8 . The crossbow system of claim 7 , wherein the draw assembly is configured to engage and move the truck with the drawstring to the cocked position.

9 . The crossbow system of claim 7 , wherein the draw assembly comprises an electric motor configured to move the drawstring to the cocked position.

10 . The crossbow of claim 9 , wherein the draw assembly further comprises a hook configured to engage the truck, the draw assembly being configured to move the drawstring from a fired position to the cocked position by actuating the electric motor to engage the truck with the hook to move the drawstring to the cocked position.

11 . A draw assembly for a crossbow, the draw assembly comprising:

a cable;

a truck configured to engage a drawstring of the crossbow;

a hook attached to the cable and configured to engage the truck; and

an electric motor, the electric motor configured to move the cable and the hook to engage the truck and move the truck with the drawstring to a cocked position,

wherein the truck is configured to extend at least partially into a revolving cylinder chamber of a revolving cylinder to engage a bolt of a plurality of bolts, the revolving cylinder configured to hold the plurality of bolts.

12 . The draw assembly of claim 11 , wherein the hook is configured to disengage from the truck and move out of a pathway of the truck such that the truck can be propelled forward by the drawstring.

13 . The draw assembly of claim 12 , wherein the draw assembly is configured to automatically move the drawstring from a fired position to the cocked position after a bolt has been fired from the crossbow.

14 . The draw assembly of claim 12 further comprising a battery configured to provide power to the electric motor.
