Method, system, and apparatus for updating statistical databases based on sensed movement data
A method, system and apparatus for sensing data and updating statistical data. The method, system and apparatus can include one or more sensors physically located at a live sporting event that collect sensed data; a live database that receives sensor data continuously during activity in the live sporting event; a base module that continuously polls the live database, stores sensed data from any completed action in the live event in a sensed data database, and transmits the sensed data to a historical action database; a situational database that houses situational data about sensed data; and a processor that associates the situational data is with the sensed data to determine dynamic statistical data.
1 . A system for determining and updating sports statistics, comprising:
one or more sensors physically located at a live sporting event that collect sensed data about at least one participant that is participating in the live sporting event, and determine when the at least one participant is actively participating in the live sporting event;
a live database that receives the sensor data continuously during activity in the live sporting event;
a situational database that houses situational data; and
a processor configured to:
use artificial intelligence or machine learning to determine dynamic statistical data by comparing the sensor data about the at least one participant that is actively participating in the live sporting event to the situational data,
determine a change in probabilities of an upcoming action occurring based on the compared sensor data and situational data, and
display, in real time, information regarding the at least one participant and updated probabilities of an upcoming action occurring related to the location data of the at least one participant,
display two or more graphics of the predicted participant activity, wherein the two or more graphics of the predicted participant activity include displayed indicia related to the likelihood of the predicted participant activity occurring;
wherein the location data and the updated probabilities are displayed on a live video broadcast or stream broadcast of the live sporting event, data about participants participating in the live sporting event comprises substitution data, and the substitution data is determined based on participant location, and
wherein there are two or more predicted player activities shown, and the two or more predicted player activities are those that reach a threshold of likelihood of occurring.
2 . The system for determining and updating sports statistics of claim 1 , wherein the one or more sensors comprise a motion sensor, a temperature sensor, a humidity sensor, an optical sensor, a camera, a microphone, a radio receiver, a thermal imager, a tracking device, an accelerometer, a radar device, a LIDAR device, and an ultrasound device.
3 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
artificial intelligence or machine learning that is applied to historical play data to identify coaching patterns.
4 . The system of claim 3 , further comprising:
the artificial intelligence or machine learning that is used to identify the coaching patterns by comparing trends across different staff compositions.
5 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
the artificial intelligence or machine learning learns to predict how personnel in the live sporting event drive probabilities of a play in the live sporting event.
6 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
the artificial intelligence or machine learning learns to revise probabilities based upon the prediction of activity in the live sporting event.
7 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising: a display of at least one graphic based on threshold data.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the predicted participant activity is one or more movements that are predicted to occur on a next play or action.
9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising highlighting and tracking one of participant or ball movement in real time, showing the highlight as graphical indicia and rationale for the highlighting.
10 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising highlighting areas of interest on a field where an upcoming action is likely to take place.
