Abstract

Systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing roadside assistance services are described herein. The system can include network computing devices and computing devices associated with vehicles and service vehicles. Requests for roadside services can be automatically assigned to an available service provider. Service providers can be ranked based on a variety of criteria and requests can be assigned based on the ranking. The ranking of service providers can be adjusted based on the performance of the service provider. If a service provider takes too long to respond to a request, the request can be automatically declined and an alternative service provider can be selected.

Claims (41)

1 . An apparatus comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to:

obtain request data indicating a service request corresponding to a roadside event;

obtain timing data for a plurality of service providers including timing of completed service requests by each of the service providers, wherein the timing data for the plurality of service providers is based on an allotment of equipment for the completed service requests by each of the service providers;

generate eligible service provider data based on the obtained request data, where the eligible service provider data comprises a list of service providers ranked based on historical performance data and the timing data of each service provider in the list of service providers;

provide a request to a first service provider system in the ranked list of service providers;

obtain a response to the request; and

automatically update the eligible service provider data based on the response to the request.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the request data comprises a geographic location, a make of vehicle, a model of the vehicle, details regarding the roadside event, and a type of requested roadside service.

3 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the ranked list of service providers is generated based on the make of the vehicle and the historical performance data pertaining to the make of the vehicle.

4 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the ranked list of service providers is generated further based on a preferred service provider corresponding to the type of requested service.

5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the historical performance data comprises at least one of a historical acceptance rate of past service requests or a historical rating of past service requests.

6 . The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein if the historical rating is below a threshold rating, the service provider is filtered from the ranked list.

7 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the response include an indication that the request was denied by the first service provider, wherein the memory storing instructions further causes the apparatus to:

provide the request to a second service provider system in the ranked list of service providers.

8 . A computer-implemented method comprising:

obtaining request data indicating a service request corresponding to a roadside event;

obtaining timing data for a plurality of service providers including timing of completed service requests by each of the service providers, wherein the timing data for the plurality of service providers is based on an allotment of equipment for the completed service requests by each of the service providers;

generating eligible service provider data based on the obtained request data, where the eligible service provider data comprises a list of service providers ranked based on historical performance data and the timing data of each service provider in the list of service providers;

providing a request to a first service provider system in the ranked list of service providers;

obtaining a response to the request; and

automatically updating the eligible service provider data based on the response to the request.

9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein the request data comprises a geographic location, a make of vehicle, a model of the vehicle, details regarding the roadside event, and a type of requested roadside service.

10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the ranked list of service providers is generated based on the make of the vehicle and the historical performance data pertaining to the make of the vehicle.

11 . The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the ranked list of service providers is generated further based on a preferred service provider corresponding to the type of requested service.

12 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein the historical performance data comprises at least one of a historical acceptance rate of past service requests or a historical rating of past service requests.

13 . The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , wherein if the historical rating is below a threshold rating, the service provider is filtered from the ranked list.

14 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein the response include an indication that the request was denied by the first service provider, the method further comprising: providing the request to a second service provider system in the ranked list of service providers.

15 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions for controlling a processor, the instructions causing the processor to perform steps comprising:

obtaining request data indicating a service request corresponding to a roadside event;

obtaining timing data for a plurality of service providers including timing of completed service requests by each of the service providers, wherein the timing data for the plurality of service providers is based on an allotment of equipment for the completed service requests by each of the service providers;

generating eligible service provider data based on the obtained request data, where the eligible service provider data comprises a list of service providers ranked based on historical performance data and the timing data of each service provider in the list of service providers;

providing a request to a first service provider system in the ranked list of service providers;

obtaining a response to the request; and

automatically updating the eligible service provider data based on the response to the request.

16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the request data comprises a geographic location, a make of vehicle, a model of the vehicle, details regarding the roadside event, and a type of requested roadside service.

17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the ranked list of service providers is generated based on the make of the vehicle and the historical performance data pertaining to the make of the vehicle.

18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the ranked list of service providers is generated further based on a preferred service provider corresponding to the type of requested service.

19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the historical performance data comprises at least one of a historical acceptance rate of past service requests or a historical rating of past service requests.

20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein if the historical rating is below a threshold rating, the service provider is filtered from the ranked list.
