Abstract

Disclosed is a transmission scheme for transmitting a first modulated signal and a second modulated signal over the same frequency at the same time. According to the transmission scheme, a precoding weight multiplying unit multiplies a baseband signal after a first mapping and a baseband signal after a second mapping by a precoding weight and outputs the first modulated signal and the second modulated signal. In the precoding weight multiplying unit, precoding weights are regularly hopped.

Claims (19)

1 . A communication apparatus comprising:

a receiver, which, in operation, receives a first precoded signal and a second precoded signal from a communication partner apparatus, wherein a precoding matrix is applied at the communication partner apparatus on a first symbol sequence and a second symbol sequence to generate the first precoded signal and the second precoded signal, the precoding matrix having one or more matrix elements that change periodically, wherein a phase change is applied to only one of the first precoded signal and the second precoded signal during the application of the precoding matrix; and

circuitry which, in operation, decodes the first precoded signal and the second precoded signal using the precoding matrix.

2 . The communication apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the phase change is not applied to the first precoded signal during the application of the precoding matrix.

3 . The communication apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein an amount of the phase change is selected from a plurality of candidate amounts.

4 . The communication apparatus according to claim 1 , comprising

a demodulation mapper, which, in operation, demodulates the first symbol sequence and the second symbol sequence to obtain a bit sequence.

5 . The communication apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the precoding matrix is determined based on control information.

6 . The communication apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein both the first precoded signal and the second precoded signal are received as an OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) symbol sequence.

7 . The communication apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the receiver comprises a plurality of antenna ports and each of the plurality of antenna ports receives at least one of the first precoded signal and the second precoded signal.

8 . A communication method for a communication apparatus, the communication method comprising:

receiving a first precoded signal and a second precoded signal from a communication partner apparatus, wherein a precoding matrix is applied at the communication partner apparatus on a first symbol sequence and a second symbol sequence to generate the first precoded signal and the second precoded signal, the precoding matrix having one or more matrix elements that change periodically, wherein a phase change is applied to only one of the first precoded signal and the second precoded signal during the application of the selected precoding matrix; and

decoding the first precoded signal and transmits the second precoded signal using the precoding matrix.

9 . The communication method according to claim 8 , wherein the phase change is not applied to the first precoded signal during the application of the precoding matrix.

10 . The communication method according to claim 8 , wherein an amount of the phase change is selected from a plurality of candidate amounts.

11 . The communication method according to claim 8 , comprising demodulating the first symbol sequence and the second symbol sequence to obtain a bit sequence.

12 . The communication method according to claim 8 , wherein the application of the precoding matrix is determined based on control information.

13 . The communication method according to claim 8 , wherein both the first precoded signal and the second precoded signal are received as an OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) symbol sequence.

14 . The communication method according to claim 8 , wherein a plurality of antenna ports are used for receiving the first precoded signal and the second precoded signal and each of the plurality of antenna ports receives at least one of the first precoded signal and the second precoded signal.
