Adjusting attributes for an on-demand service system based on real-time information
A system and method for dynamically adjusting attributes for a network service is described. A computing system can determine a change that is to be implemented to an attribute of the network service. For each of a plurality of computing devices, the computing system can receive information associated with that computing device from a designated application operating on that computing device. The designated application is associated with the network service. The computing system automatically implements the change to at least one but not all of the plurality of computing devices based on the information received from each of the plurality of computing devices.
1 . A computing device comprising:
one or more processors;
a memory to store a set of instructions;
wherein the one or more processors execute the set of instructions to perform operations that include:
receiving, over one or more networks, configuration data, the configuration data specifying a condition for a device application that executes on the computing device to configure a feature for how a network service is provided by the device application;
determining whether the condition is satisfied based on a set of data obtained by the computing device; and
in response to determining that the condition is satisfied, implementing the feature, including toggling the feature on or off, based on the configuration data.
2 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the set of data includes location data determined from a location detection mechanism component of the computing device.
3 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the set of data includes at least one of a time or day.
4 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the feature is an attribute of a graphical user interface that is presented on a display of the computing device by the device application.
5 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the feature is implemented based on real-time data that is continuously transmitted from the device application, reverting the feature back to its previous state once the transmitted real-time data no longer satisfies the condition specified.
6 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the feature is implemented on a user interface of the device application on the computing device in an active or inactive state, the state based on the condition specified.
7 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the feature is implemented on the computing device in an active or inactive state, the state corresponding to the condition specified by an on-demand service system.
8 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the feature limits an attribute for utilizing the network service.
9 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium that stores instructions, which when executed by one or more processors of a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising:
receiving, over one or more networks, configuration data, the configuration data specifying a condition for a device application that executes on the computing device to configure a feature for how a network service is provided by the device application;
determining whether the condition is satisfied based on a set of data obtained by the computing device; and
in response to determining that the condition is satisfied, implementing the feature, including toggling the feature on or off, based on the configuration data.
10 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the set of data includes location data determined from a location detection mechanism component of the computing device.
11 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the set of data includes at least one of a time or day.
12 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the feature is an attribute of a graphical user interface that is presented on a display of the computing device by the device application.
13 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the feature is implemented based on real-time data that is continuously transmitted from the device application, reverting the feature back to its previous state once the transmitted real-time data no longer satisfies the condition specified.
14 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the feature is implemented on a user interface of the device application on the computing device in an active or inactive state, the state based on the condition specified.
15 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the feature is implemented on the computing device in an active or inactive state, the state corresponding to the condition specified by an on-demand service system.
16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the feature limits an attribute for utilizing the network service.
17 . A computer-implemented method comprising:
receiving configuration data, the configuration data specifying a condition for a device application that executes on a computing device to configure a feature for how a network service is provided by the device application;
determining, based on sensor information, whether the condition is satisfied; and
in response to determining that the condition is satisfied, implementing the feature, including toggling the feature on or off, based on the configuration data.
