Abstract

A transmission device of point cloud data, a method performed by the transmission device, a reception device and a method performed by the reception device are provided. A method performed by a reception device of point cloud data comprises acquiring temporal scalability information of a point cloud in a three-dimensional space based on a G-PCC file and reconstructing the three-dimensional point cloud based on the temporal scalability information. The temporal scalability information may comprise a first syntax element and a second syntax element for the three-dimensional point cloud, the first syntax element may indicate the number of temporal levels in a track, the second syntax element may indicate whether the three-dimensional point cloud is carried in multiple temporal level tracks, and the second syntax element may be determined based on a value of the first syntax element.

Claims (45)

1 . A method performed by a reception device of point cloud data, the method comprising:

acquiring temporal scalability information of a point cloud in a three-dimensional space based on a G-PCC file; and

reconstructing the three-dimensional point cloud based on the temporal scalability information,

wherein the temporal scalability information comprises a first syntax element and a second syntax element for the three-dimensional point cloud,

wherein the first syntax element indicates the number of temporal levels in a track,

wherein the second syntax element indicates whether the three-dimensional point cloud is carried in multiple temporal level tracks, and

wherein the second syntax element is determined based on a value of the first syntax element.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein a minimum value of the first syntax element is 0.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second syntax element indicates that the multiple temporal level tracks are not present, based on the value of the first syntax element being equal to a particular value.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second syntax element indicates that the multiple temporal level tracks are present, based on the value of the first syntax element being equal to a particular value.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first syntax element is signaled before the second syntax element.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the temporal scalability information is included in decoder configuration information GPCCDecoderConfigurationRecrd.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first syntax element is greater than 1, based on the temporal scalability information being carried in a particular track.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second syntax element indicates that the multiple temporal level tracks are present, based on the temporal scalability information being carried outside a particular track and the first syntax element being equal to a particular value.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second syntax element is determined further based on alternate group to which a track belongs.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein a track in the alternate group has the same second syntax element.

11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the temporal scalability information further comprises a third syntax element indicating whether all tracks include samples of all temporal levels.

12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the temporal scalability information is included in a scalability information box GPCCScalabilityInfoBox.

13 . A method performed by a transmission device of point cloud data, the method comprising:

determining whether temporal scalability is applied to point cloud data in a three-dimensional space; and

generating a G-PCC file by including temporal scalability information and the point cloud data,

wherein the temporal scalability information comprises a first syntax element and a second syntax element for the three-dimensional point cloud,

wherein the first syntax element indicates the number of temporal levels in a track,

wherein the second syntax element indicates whether the three-dimensional point cloud is carried in multiple temporal level tracks, and

wherein the second syntax element is determined based on a value of the first syntax element.

14 . A reception device of point cloud data, the reception device comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor,

wherein the at least one processor is configured to:

acquire temporal scalability information of a point cloud in a three-dimensional space; and

reconstruct the three-dimensional point cloud based on the temporal scalability information,

wherein the temporal scalability information comprises a first syntax element and a second syntax element for the three-dimensional point cloud,

wherein the first syntax element indicates the number of temporal levels in a track,

wherein the second syntax element indicates whether the three-dimensional point cloud is carried in multiple temporal level tracks, and

wherein the second syntax element is determined based on a value of the first syntax element.

15 . A transmission device of point cloud data, the transmission device comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor,

wherein the at least one processor is configured to:

determine whether temporal scalability is applied to point cloud data in a three-dimensional space; and

generate a G-PCC file by including temporal scalability information and the point cloud data,

wherein the temporal scalability information comprises a first syntax element and a second syntax element for the three-dimensional point cloud,

wherein the first syntax element indicates the number of temporal levels in a track,

wherein the second syntax element indicates whether the three-dimensional point cloud is carried in multiple temporal level tracks, and

wherein the second syntax element is determined based on a value of the first syntax element.
