Abstract

A method for decoding an image according to the present invention may comprise the steps of: deriving a residual coefficient of a current block; dequantizing the residual coefficient; deriving a common residual signal by performing inverse transform of the dequantized residual coefficient; and deriving a first residual signal of a first chroma component and a second residual signal of a second chroma component on the basis of the common residual signal.

Claims (38)

1 . A method of encoding a video, the method comprising:

generating, for a current block, a joint residual sample for a first residual sample for a first chroma component and a second residual sample for a second chroma component;

transforming the joint residual sample;

deriving a residual coefficient by quantizing the transformed joint residual sample;

encoding the residual coefficient; and

encoding, for the current block, information specifying a residual signal decoding mode among a plurality of residual sample decoding mode candidates,

wherein a first residual sample decoding mode candidates from among the plurality of residual sample decoding mode candidates corresponds to a derivation of the first residual sample to be the same as the joint residual sample during a decoding of the video, and

wherein a second residual sample decoding mode candidates from among the plurality of residual sample decoding mode candidates corresponds to a derivation of the first residual sample to has a sign opposite to the joint residual sample or scaling the joint residual sample during the decoding of the video.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein one of the first residual sample or the second residual sample has the same sign as the joint residual sample, and the other has a sign opposite of the joint residual sample.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second residual sample decoding mode corresponds to a derivation of an absolute value of the first residual sample by scaling the joint residual sample during the decoding of the video.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first chroma component represents one of a Cb component or a Cr component, and wherein the second chroma component represents another one of the Cb component or the Cr component.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first chroma component represents one of a U component or a V component, and wherein the second chroma component represents another one of the U component or the V component.

6 . A system comprising:

one or more processors; and

one or more non-transitory computer readable media storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

generating, for a current block, a joint residual sample for a first residual sample for a first chroma component and a second residual sample for a second chroma component;

transforming the joint residual sample;

deriving a residual coefficient by quantizing the transformed joint residual sample;

encoding the residual coefficient; and

encoding, for the current block, information specifying a residual signal decoding mode among a plurality of residual sample decoding mode candidates,

wherein a first residual sample decoding mode candidates from among the plurality of residual sample decoding mode candidates corresponds to a derivation of the first residual sample to be the same as the joint residual sample during a decoding of a video, and

wherein a second residual sample decoding mode candidates from among the plurality of residual sample decoding mode candidates corresponds to a derivation of the first residual sample to has a sign opposite to the joint residual sample or scaling the joint residual sample during the decoding of the video.

7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein one of the first residual sample or the second residual sample has the same sign as the joint residual sample, and the other has a sign opposite of the joint residual sample.

8 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the second residual sample decoding mode corresponds to a derivation of an absolute value of the first residual sample by scaling the joint residual sample during the decoding of the video.

9 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the first chroma component represents one of a Cb component or a Cr component, and wherein the second chroma component represents another one of the Cb component or the Cr component.

10 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the first chroma component represents one of a U component or a V component, and wherein the second chroma component represents another one of the U component or the V component.

generating, for a current block, a joint residual sample for a first residual sample for a first chroma component and a second residual sample for a second chroma component;

transforming the joint residual sample;

deriving a residual coefficient by quantizing the transformed joint residual sample;

encoding the residual coefficient; and

encoding, for the current block, information specifying a residual signal decoding mode among a plurality of residual sample decoding mode candidates,
