Abstract

A pot system and apparatus comprises an outer shell, an inner vented container configured to fit inside the outer shell, the inner vented container further comprising: a top lip, an upper basket, and a soil chamber, the pot system being configured to prevent root rot, provide air pruning, and to foster bacterial growth and air circulation to passively scrub indoor air.

Claims (54)

1 . A pot apparatus comprising:

an outer shell; and

an inner vented container comprising:

an upper basket; and

a soil chamber connected to the upper basket, the soil chamber further comprising:

four concave walls with a plurality of aeration slots in each of the four concave walls; and

at least one wicking chamber comprising a tubular structure at an intersection of two of the four concave walls, the inner vented container being configured to form a space between the outer shell and the inner vented container comprising a deep water reservoir and an oxygen bank that supports air circulation between the outer shell and the inner vented container.

2 . The pot apparatus of claim 1 further comprising:

a spout configured on the outer shell below a top rim of the outer shell.

3 . The pot apparatus of claim 2 wherein the spout further comprises:

a protrusion in a wall of the outer shell for accepting water.

4 . The pot apparatus of claim 1 further comprising:

at least one vent in the outer shell, configured below a top rim of the outer shell.

5 . The pot apparatus of claim 4 wherein the vent further comprises:

a plurality of slits and apertures.

6 . The pot apparatus of claim 1 wherein the soil chamber further comprises:

a flat base; and

a plurality of vents arranged in arcs on the flat base.

7 . The pot apparatus of claim 1 further comprising:

a wicking zone in the at least one wicking chamber.

8 . The pot apparatus of claim 2 wherein the inner vented container further comprises:

an inner vented container shelf configured between the upper basket and soil container; and

a spout recess formed in the inner vented container shelf, the spout recess aligning with the spout configured on the outer shell.

9 . The pot apparatus of claim 1 further comprising:

a plurality of offset struts configured to separate the outer shell from the inner vented container.

10 . The pot apparatus of claim 1 further comprising:

Pseudomonas Putida provided in soil in the inner vented container.

11 . A pot comprising:

an outer shell;

an inner vented container configured to fit inside the outer shell, the inner vented container further comprising:

an upper basket;

a lower soil chamber comprising four concave walls with a plurality of aeration slots in each of the four concave walls;

a wicking chamber configured in the inner vented container forming a wicking zone;

a deep water reservoir and an oxygen bank formed in the space between the outer shell and inner vented container.

12 . The pot of claim 11 further comprising:

a spout configured on the outer shell below a top of the outer shell, the spout further comprising a protrusion for accepting water.

13 . The pot of claim 11 further comprising:

at least one vent in the outer shell.

14 . The pot of claim 11 wherein the lower soil chamber further comprises:

a substantially x-shaped base with a plurality of vents arranged in arcs on the substantially x-shaped base; and

at least one concave cutaway side.

15 . The pot of claim 11 wherein the upper basket further comprises a plurality of vents.

16 . A pot system comprising:

an outer shell;

an inner vented container configured to fit inside the outer shell, the inner vented container further comprising:

a top lip configured below a top of the outer shell;

an upper basket;

a soil chamber; the soil chamber comprising a substantially x-shaped base with four concave walls extending from the x-shaped base, the four concave walls each have a plurality of aeration slots; and a wicking chamber comprising a tubular structure at an intersection of two of the four concave walls; and

an inner vented container shelf connecting the upper basket and the soil chamber, the inner vented container shelf further comprising a plurality of vents.

17 . The pot system of claim 16 wherein the outer shell further comprises:

a spout configured below the top of the outer shell; and

at least one vent configured below the top of the outer shell.

18 . The pot system of claim 16 wherein the inner vented container further comprises:

at least one vent in the upper basket.
