Sleeve connector system
View Patent ↗A sleeve connector system including at least some of a sleeve body; an adhesive strip provided along a portion of the top flap to allow a portion of the top flap to be permanently or releasably adhesively attached or coupled to a portion of the sleeve body; a port formed through the sleeve body, wherein the port allows access from an exterior of the sleeve body, through the sleeve body, to a sleeve cavity of the sleeve body; an interface portion, wherein at least a portion of the interface portion extends from the sleeve cavity, through the port, to the exterior of the sleeve body; a cable protector; and a connector portion having an internal borehole attached or coupled to an open end of the cable protector, and wherein the connector portion may be repeatably attached to or detached from the interface portion.
1 . A sleeve connector system, comprising:
a sleeve body having at least one pair of opposed wall portions comprising a front wall portion and a rear wall portion, wherein an internal sleeve cavity is formed within at least a portion of said sleeve body, wherein said sleeve cavity is defined between an open top portion of said sleeve body and a bottom wall portion of said sleeve body;
a top flap extending from a portion of said front wall portion, wherein a portion of said top flap is foldable over said open top portion to at least partially cover said open top portion;
an adhesive strip provided along a portion of said top flap to allow a portion of said top flap to be permanently or releasably adhesively attached or coupled to a portion of an exterior surface of said rear wall portion of said sleeve body;
a port formed through said sleeve body, proximate said bottom wall portion, wherein said port allows access from an exterior of said sleeve body, through said sleeve body, to said sleeve cavity;
an interface portion, wherein at least a portion of said interface portion extends from said sleeve cavity, through said port, to said exterior of said sleeve body;
a cable protector having an internal cable protector cavity formed therethrough; and
a connector portion attached or coupled to an open end of said cable protector, wherein said interface portion includes at least some internal threads formed within at least a portion of an internal borehole of said interface portion, and wherein said connector portion includes at least some external threads, mateable to said internal threads of said interface portion such that said connector portion may be repeatably threadedly attached to or detached from said interface portion, via interaction of said external threads of said connector portion and said internal threads of said interface portion.
2 . The sleeve connector system of claim 1 , further comprising a pair of opposed wall portions comprising a first side wall portion and a second side wall portion, wherein said first side wall portion and said second side wall portion join said front wall portion and said rear wall portion.
3 . The sleeve connector system of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of said front wall portion is heat welded or adhesively bonded to at least a portion of said rear wall portion, proximate edge portions of said front wall portion and said rear wall portion, to define said sleeve cavity.
4 . The sleeve connector system of claim 1 , wherein if said connector portion is threadably attached to said interface portion, said sleeve cavity is in communicating relationship with said internal cable protector cavity of said cable protector.

The sleeve connector system of claim 1 , wherein if said connector portion is threadably attached to said interface portion, said sleeve cavity is in communicating relationship with said internal cable protector cavity of said cable protector and frictional engagement between at least a portion of said connector portion and at least a portion of said internal borehole provides a substantially hermetic seal between said connector portion and said internal borehole.
6 . The sleeve connector system of claim 1 , wherein said adhesive strip is provided to allow a portion of said top flap to be permanently or releasably adhesively attached or coupled to a portion of an exterior surface of said sleeve body.

The sleeve connector system of claim 1 , further comprising a separate adhesive strip formed along at least a portion of said exterior surface of said rear wall portion, to allow a first portion of said exterior surface of said rear wall portion to be permanently or releasably adhesively attached or coupled to a second portion of said exterior surface of said rear wall portion to adjust a width of said sleeve body and a size of said sleeve cavity.

The sleeve connector system of claim 7 , wherein said adhesive strip is provided along a portion of said top flap substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of said sleeve body and wherein said separate adhesive strip is provided substantially parallel to said longitudinal axis of said sleeve body.
9 . A sleeve connector system, comprising:
a sleeve body having a front wall portion and a rear wall portion, wherein an internal sleeve cavity is formed within at least a portion of said sleeve body, wherein said sleeve cavity is defined between an open top portion of said sleeve body and a bottom wall portion of said sleeve body;
a top flap extending from a portion of said front wall portion, wherein a portion of said top flap is foldable over said open top portion to at least partially cover said open top portion;
an adhesive strip provided along a portion of said top flap to allow a portion of said top flap to be permanently or releasably adhesively attached or coupled to a portion of an exterior surface said rear wall portion of said sleeve body;
a port formed through said sleeve body, proximate said bottom wall portion, wherein said port allows access from an exterior of said sleeve body, through said sleeve body, to said sleeve cavity;
an interface portion, wherein at least a portion of said interface portion extends from said sleeve cavity, through said port, to said exterior of said sleeve body;
a cable protector having an internal cable protector cavity formed therethrough; and
a connector portion attached or coupled to an open end of said cable protector, wherein said interface portion includes an internal borehole, and wherein said connector portion may be repeatably attached to or detached from said interface portion, via interaction of said connector portion and said internal borehole of said interface portion.
10 . The sleeve connector system of claim 9 , wherein said connector portion includes one or more external projections or ribs extending from said connector portion.
11 . The sleeve connector system of claim 9 , wherein said connector portion includes one or more external projections or ribs extending from said connector portion and wherein one or more internal borehole recesses are formed in a sidewall of said internal borehole.
12 . The sleeve connector system of claim 9 , further comprising a pair of opposed wall portions comprising a first side wall portion and a second side wall portion, wherein said first side wall portion and said second side wall portion join said front wall portion and said rear wall portion.
13 . The sleeve connector system of claim 9 , wherein at least a portion of said front wall portion is heat welded or adhesively bonded to at least a portion of said rear wall portion, proximate edge portions of said front wall portion and said rear wall portion, to define said sleeve cavity.
14 . The sleeve connector system of claim 9 , wherein if said connector portion is attached to said interface portion, said sleeve cavity is in communicating relationship with said internal cable protector cavity of said cable protector.

The sleeve connector system of claim 9 , wherein if said connector portion is attached to said interface portion, said sleeve cavity is in communicating relationship with said internal cable protector cavity of said cable protector and frictional engagement between at least a portion of said connector portion and at least a portion of said internal borehole provides a substantially hermetic seal between said connector portion and said internal borehole.

The sleeve connector system of claim 9 , further comprising a separate adhesive strip formed along at least a portion of said exterior surface of said rear wall portion of said sleeve body to allow a first portion of said exterior surface of said rear wall portion to be permanently or releasably adhesively attached or coupled to a second portion of said exterior surface of said rear wall portion, wherein if said first portion of said exterior surface of said exterior surface of said rear wall portion is permanently or releasably adhesively attached or coupled to said second portion of said exterior surface of said rear wall portion, said width of said sleeve body is adjusted.
17 . A sleeve connector system, comprising:
a sleeve body having an internal sleeve cavity formed within at least a portion of said sleeve body, wherein said sleeve cavity is defined between an open top portion of said sleeve body and a bottom wall portion of said sleeve body;
a top flap extending from a portion of a front wall portion of said sleeve body, wherein a portion of said top flap is foldable over said open top portion to at least partially cover said open top portion;
an adhesive strip provided along a portion of said top flap to allow a portion of said top flap to be permanently or releasably adhesively attached or coupled to a portion of an exterior surface of a rear wall portion of said sleeve body;
a port formed through said sleeve body, proximate said bottom wall portion, wherein said port allows access from an exterior of said sleeve body, through said sleeve body, to said sleeve cavity;
an interface portion, wherein at least a portion of said interface portion extends from said sleeve cavity, through said port, to said exterior of said sleeve body;
a cable protector having an internal cable protector cavity formed therethrough; and
a connector portion attached or coupled to an open end of said cable protector, wherein said interface portion includes at least one engagement groove formed within at least a portion of an internal borehole of said interface portion, and wherein said connector portion includes at least one engagement pin extending from said connector portion, wherein said engagement pin is at least partially positionable within at least a portion of said engagement groove of said interface portion such that said connector portion may be repeatably attached to or detached from said interface portion, via interaction of said engagement pin of said connector portion and said engagement groove of said interface portion.
18 . The sleeve connector system of claim 16 , wherein if said connector portion is attached to said interface portion, said sleeve cavity is in communicating relationship with said internal cable protector cavity of said cable protector.

The sleeve connector system of claim 16 , wherein if said connector portion is attached to said interface portion, said sleeve cavity is in communicating relationship with said internal cable protector cavity of said cable protector and frictional engagement between at least a portion of said connector portion and at least a portion of said internal borehole provides a substantially hermetic seal between said connector portion and said internal borehole.

The sleeve connector system of claim 16 , further comprising a separate adhesive strip formed along at least a portion of said exterior surface of said rear wall portion of said sleeve body to allow a first portion of said exterior surface of said rear wall portion to be permanently or releasably adhesively attached or coupled to a second portion of said exterior surface of said rear wall portion to adjust a width of said sleeve body and a size of said sleeve cavity.
