Medical system, server device, and accessory device for medical appliance base plate monitoring
An ostomy system, accessory device, and server device is disclosed. A server device ( 10 ) for an ostomy system ( 1 ) of a user is disclosed, the ostomy system comprising a monitor device ( 6 ), an ostomy appliance ( 2 ), and an accessory device ( 8 ), the ostomy appliance comprising a base plate ( 4 ), the server device comprising a memory; one of more processors; and an interface coupled to the one or more processors and configured to communicate with the accessory device, wherein the one or more processors are configured to obtain accessory data and associated base plate identifiers from a set of accessory devices; obtain abase plate identifier of a base plate from the accessory device; determine a first base plate parameter of the base plate based on the base plate identifier; and transmit the first base plate parameter to the accessory device.
1 . An accessory device for an ostomy system comprising a monitor device and an ostomy appliance, the ostomy appliance comprising a base plate, the accessory device comprising:
a memory;
a processor; and
an interface coupled to the processor and configured to communicate with the monitor device, wherein the interface comprises a display and is configured to obtain monitor data from the monitor device coupled to the ostomy appliance,
wherein the processor is configured to:
obtain a base plate identifier from the base plate;
generate a request, to a server device, comprising the base plate identifier obtained from the base plate, for one or more base plate parameters including a first base plate parameter corresponding to a physical characteristic of a set of base plates that are each associated with the base plate identifier;
receive, from the server device in response to the request, the one or more base plate parameters associated with the base plate identifier;
process, by the accessory device, the monitor data from the monitor device to determine an operating state of the base plate based on the first base plate parameter obtained from the server device, thereby interpreting the monitor data according to the physical characteristic of the base plate as indicated by the first base plate parameter; and
display, on the display, a first user interface comprising a first user interface object representing the operating state of the base plate.
2 . The accessory device according to claim 1 , wherein the interface of the accessory device further comprises a transceiver unit, and wherein the request is transmitted and the one or more base plate parameters are received via the transceiver unit.
3 . The accessory device according to claim 2 , wherein:
the request comprises accessory data comprising the monitor data; and
the one or more base plate parameters of the base plate is further based on the monitor data.

The accessory device according to claim 1 , wherein to determine an operating state of the base plate based on the first base plate parameter and the monitor data comprises to determine an estimate of remaining wear time of the base plate, and wherein the first user interface object represents the estimate of remaining wear time of the base plate.
5 . The accessory device according to claim 1 , wherein the monitor data comprises ostomy data obtained from electrodes of the base plate.
6 . The accessory device according to claim 1 , wherein the monitor data comprises parameter data based on ostomy data from electrodes of the base plate.
7 . The accessory device of claim 1 , wherein determining the operating state comprises transforming the monitor data according to the first base plate parameter.
8 . The accessory device of claim 1 , wherein criteria associated with the base plate identifier, as indicated by the one or more base plate parameters, are used to process the monitor data to determine the operating state.
9 . The accessory device of claim 1 , wherein the base plate identifier comprises a batch identifier for the set of base plates that are each associated with the base plate identifier.
10 . A server device for an ostomy system comprising a monitor device, an ostomy appliance, and an accessory device, the ostomy appliance comprising a base plate, the server device comprising:
a memory;
one or more processors; and
an interface coupled to the one or more processors and configured to communicate with the accessory device,
wherein the one or more processors are configured to:
obtain, from a plurality of accessory devices by the server device, accessory data associated with a plurality of base plates having a base plate identifier;
process the accessory data from the plurality of accessory devices to generate a first base plate parameter corresponding to a physical characteristic of the plurality of base plates;
store, at the server device, the generated first base plate parameter in association with the base plate identifier;
receive, from the accessory device, a request for a base plate parameter, wherein the request comprises an indication of the base plate identifier; and
transmit, based on the association between the base plate identifier indicated by the request and the first base plate parameter generated for the plurality of accessory devices, the first base plate parameter to the accessory device in response to the request.
11 . The server device according to claim 10 , wherein the accessory data from the set of accessory devices comprises monitor data from monitor devices.
12 . The server device according to claim 11 , wherein the monitor data comprises ostomy data obtained from electrodes of the plurality of base plates.
13 . The server device according to claim 11 , wherein the monitor data comprises parameter data based on ostomy data from electrodes of the plurality of base plates.
14 . The server device of claim 10 , wherein the base plate identifier is a first base plate identifier and the one or more processors are further configured to:
receive, from a second accessory device, a request for a second base plate parameter, wherein the request comprises an indication of a second base plate identifier different than the first base plate identifier; and
determine, based on the second base plate identifier, a second base plate parameter associated with the second base plate identifier, wherein the second base plate parameter is different than the first base plate parameter.
15 . A method for adapting monitor data of a base plate based on a set of accessory devices, comprising:
obtaining, by an accessory device, a base plate identifier from the base plate;
requesting, from a server device, one or more base plate parameters for the base plate based on the base plate identifier, the one or more base plate parameters including a first base plate parameter corresponding to a physical characteristic of a set of base plates that are each associated with the base plate identifier;
receiving, from the server device in response to the request, the one or more base plate parameters associated with the base plate identifier;
processing, by the accessory device, the monitor data to determine an operating state of the base plate based on the first base plate parameter obtained from the server device, thereby interpreting the monitor data according to the physical characteristic of the base plate as indicated by the first base plate parameter; and
displaying, on a display of the accessory device, a first user interface comprising a first user interface object representing the determined operating state of the base plate.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein determining the operating state comprises transforming the monitor data according to the first base plate parameter.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein requesting the one or more base plate parameters comprises transmitting the base plate identifier to the server device.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein:
requesting the one or more base plate parameters of the base plate comprises transmitting accessory data comprising the monitor data to the server device; and
the one or more base plate parameters of the base plate is based on the monitor data.
19 . The method of claim 16 , wherein:
determining the operating state of the base plate comprises determining an estimate of remaining wear time of the base plate; and
the first user interface object represents the estimate of remaining wear time of the base plate.
20 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the monitor data comprises at least one of:
ostomy data obtained from electrodes of the base plate; or
parameter data based on ostomy data from electrodes of the base plate.
