Abstract

Prosthetic heart valve devices for percutaneous replacement of native heart valves and associated systems and method are disclosed herein. A prosthetic heart valve device configured in accordance with a particular embodiment of the present technology can include an anchoring member having an upstream portion configured to engage with tissue on or near the annulus of the native heart valve and to deform in a non-circular shape to conform to the tissue. The device can also include a mechanically isolated valve support coupled to the anchoring member and configured to support a prosthetic valve. The device can further include an atrial extension member extending radially outward from the upstream portion of the anchoring member and which is deformable without substantially deforming the anchoring member. In some embodiments, the upstream portion of the anchoring member and the extension member may be deformed while the valve support remains sufficiently stable.

Claims (26)

1 . A prosthetic heart valve device comprising:

a docking member configured to engage at least a supra-annular surface of a native heart valve; and

a valve member including a first frame, a prosthetic valve coupled to the first frame, and a second frame coupled to and surrounding the first frame in a delivery configuration, the valve member being separately deliverable to the native heart valve than the docking member such that in the delivery configuration the valve member is not coupled to the docking member, wherein the valve member is configured to be deployed such that in a deployed configuration the valve member is disposed within a central passageway of the docking member at the native heart valve.

2 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 1 , wherein the docking member comprises:

a third frame configured to engage an annulus of the native heart valve; and

an extension member coupled to the third frame, the extension member including a brim configured to engage the supra-annular surface of the native heart valve.

3 . The prosthetic heart valve of claim 1 , wherein the second frame includes an outer surface configured to engage the annulus of the native valve and an inner surface spaced from the first frame.

4 . The prosthetic heart valve of claim 1 , wherein an upstream region of the second frame is mechanically isolated from an upstream region of the first frame.

5 . The prosthetic heart valve of claim 1 , wherein in the deployed configuration the second frame is coupled to the docking member.

6 . The prosthetic heart valve of claim 1 , wherein the docking member includes a first portion for engaging the supra-annular surface of the native valve.

7 . The prosthetic heart valve of claim 6 , further comprising a support structure coupled to the first portion of the docking member.

8 . The prosthetic heart valve of claim 6 , further comprising docking features coupled to the docking member, wherein the docking features are configured to couple the docking member to the valve member.

9 . The prosthetic heart valve of claim 8 , wherein the docking features comprise hooks, latches, barbs, or pins.

10 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 6 , wherein the docking member further comprises a second portion extending downstream of the first portion.

11 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 10 , wherein in the deployed configuration, the second frame of the of the valve member surrounds the second portion of the docking member and the first frame of the valve member is disposed within the central passageway of the docking member.

12 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 11 , wherein the second portion of the docking member includes a plurality of docking features extending radially outwardly, wherein in the deployed configuration the docking features are engaged with the second frame of the valve member surrounding the second portion of the docking member.

13 . A method of delivering and deploying a prosthetic heart valve at a native mitral valve, the method comprising:

delivering and deploying a docking member to the native mitral valve, wherein the docking member engages at least a supra-annular surface of the native mitral valve;

after the docking member is deployed at the native mitral valve, delivering a valve member to the native mitral valve, wherein the valve member includes a first frame, a second frame coupled to and surrounding the first frame, and a prosthetic valve coupled within the first frame; and

deploying the valve member such that at least a portion of the valve member is disposed within a central passageway of the deployed docking member.

14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the docking member comprises a first portion for engaging the supra-annular surface of the native mitral valve and a second portion downstream of the first portion.

15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the step of deploying the valve member comprises deploying the valve member such that the second frame of the valve member surrounds the second portion of the docking member and the first frame of the valve member is disposed within the central passageway of the docking member.

16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the second portion of the docking member includes a plurality of docking features extending radially outwardly, wherein the step of deploying the valve member comprises the docking features engaging the second frame of the valve member surrounding the second portion of the docking member.

17 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the step of deploying the valve member comprises coupling the second frame to the docking member.

18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the docking member includes at least one docking feature, and wherein the step of deploying the valve member comprises coupling the second frame to the docking member via the at least one docking feature.

19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the at least one docking feature comprises a hook, a latch, a barb, or a pin.
