View Patent ↗The invention relates to a rubber composition based on at least one functionalized elastomer comprising polar functional groups, a reinforcing filler and a specific polyphenolic compound.
1 . A composite based on at least one reinforcing element and a rubber composition, the rubber composition based on at least one functionalized elastomer comprising polar functional groups, a reinforcing filler, and a crosslinking agent,
wherein the crosslinking agent comprises a polyphenolic compound comprising at least three aromatic rings comprising 6 carbon atoms, each bearing at least two vicinal hydroxyl groups,
wherein the rubber composition does not simultaneously comprise an alkyl-imidazole and a polycarboxylic acid of general formula (P1):
in which A is a covalent bond or a hydrocarbon-based group including at least 1 carbon atom, which is optionally substituted and optionally interrupted with one or more heteroatoms,
wherein the rubber composition does not comprise cobalt salts,
wherein the rubber composition does not comprise zinc or zinc oxide or comprises less than 1 phr of zinc or zinc oxide, and
wherein the at least one reinforcing element has a length at least 10 times greater than a greatest dimension of a cross-section thereof and comprises a metallic surface.
2 . The composite according to claim 1 , wherein a molar mass of the polyphenolic compound is greater than 600 g/mol.
3 . The composite according to claim 1 , wherein a molar mass of the polyphenolic compound is less than 3000 g/mol.
4 . The composite according to claim 1 , wherein the polyphenolic compound is selected from the group consisting of gallotanins.
5 . The composite according to claim 1 , wherein the polyphenolic compound is selected from the group consisting of esters of glucose and of gallic acid.
6 . The composite according to claim 1 , wherein the polyphenolic compound is selected from the group consisting of trigalloyl glucoses, pentagalloyl glucoses and decagalloyl glucoses.
7 . The composite according to claim 1 , wherein the polar functional groups of the at least one functionalized elastomer comprise at least one atom selected from the group consisting of halogens, oxygen and nitrogen.
8 . The composite according to claim 7 , wherein the polar functional groups of the at least one functionalized elastomer comprise at least one group selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl, carbonyl, imine and epoxide groups.
9 . A finished or semi-finished article comprising the composite according to claim 1 .
10 . A tire comprising the composite according to claim 1 .
