Deployable tag management in computer data networks
A tag management system in a computer data network can be used to manage one or more tag configurations with templates. A template may enable efficient tag configuration by causing presentation of an improved user interface that facilitates user-specified mappings between a custom content site and predefined tag management attributes. By completing a template, which may depend on other templates or have templates that depend on it, the tag management system can automatically deploy complex tag management configurations to track end user interactions over a data network.
1 . A system comprising:
non-transitory physical computer storage; and
one or more computer hardware processors in a physical computing device, the one or more computer hardware processors being in communication with the non-transitory physical computer storage and programmed to:
determine, from at least first template configuration data stored in a JSON data format, (i) a plurality of input elements associated with tag management for a content page and (ii) textual information associated with the plurality of input elements, the plurality of input elements comprising a first input element associated with a page identifier for the content page;
present, in a user interface, the plurality of input elements and the textual information to request input for the plurality of input elements;
receive user input via the plurality of input elements including the first input element, the user input indicating at least a page name for the content page;
determine second template configuration data associated with the first template configuration data, the second template configuration data being stored in the JSON data format and containing information for a first tag management configuration;
generate a plurality of tag management configurations from at least the user input and the second template configuration data, the plurality of tag management configurations comprising the first tag management configuration and a tag management attribute, the tag management attribute comprising the page name; and
associate the plurality of tag management configurations with a tag object configured to gather interaction data indicative of user interactions with the content page.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein determining the second template configuration data comprises:
determining an identifier in the first template configuration data as the identifier for the second template configuration data.
3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first tag management configuration comprises an indication to assign a trait to a user of the content page based on satisfaction of a condition.
4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first tag management configuration comprises an indication of an executable instruction set.

under control of a hardware processor:
determining, from at least first template configuration data, (i) a plurality of input elements associated with tag management for a first content page and (ii) textual information associated with the plurality of input elements, the plurality of input elements comprising a first input element associated with a page identifier for the first content page;
presenting, in a user interface, the plurality of input elements and the textual information to request input for the plurality of input elements;
receiving user input via the plurality of input elements including the first input element, the user input indicating at least a page name for the first content page;
determining second template configuration data associated with the first template configuration data, the second template configuration data containing information for a first tag management configuration;
generating a plurality of tag management configurations from at least the user input and the second template configuration data, the plurality of tag management configurations comprising the first tag management configuration and a first tag management attribute, the first tag management attribute comprising the page name; and
associating the plurality of tag management configurations with a tag object configured to gather interaction data indicative of user interactions with the first content page.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein determining the second template configuration data comprises:
determining an identifier in the first template configuration data as the identifier for the second template configuration data.
7 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the first tag management configuration comprises an indication to assign a trait or attribute to a user of the first content page based on satisfaction of a condition.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the condition comprises detection of the page name in a second content page or Document Object Model.
9 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the first tag management configuration comprises an indication of an executable instruction set.
10 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the plurality of tag management configurations comprises a second tag management attribute, the second tag management attribute corresponding to at least one of: a home page attribute, an event attribute, a cart page attribute, a page type attribute, an end user attribute, a visitor attribute, or a badge attribute.
11 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising:
presenting, in the user interface, a plurality of template elements that are selectable; and
receiving, via the user interface, a selection of a first template element from the plurality of template elements, the first template element being associated with the first template configuration data.
12 . A system comprising:
non-transitory physical computer storage; and
one or more computer hardware processors in a physical computing device, the one or more computer hardware processors being in communication with the non-transitory physical computer storage and programmed to:
determine, from at least first template configuration data, (i) a plurality of input elements associated with tag management for a first content page and (ii) textual information associated with the plurality of input elements, the plurality of input elements comprising a first input element associated with a page identifier for the first content page;
present, in a user interface, the plurality of input elements and the textual information to request input for the plurality of input elements;
receive user input via the plurality of input elements including the first input element, the user input indicating at least text for a page-related variable;
determine second template configuration data associated with the first template configuration data, the second template configuration data containing information for a first tag management configuration;
generate a plurality of tag management configurations from at least the user input and the second template configuration data, the plurality of tag management configurations comprising the first tag management configuration and a tag management attribute, the tag management attribute comprising the text for the page-related variable; and
associate the plurality of tag management configurations with a tag object configured to gather interaction data indicative of user interactions with the first content page.
