Abstract

An antenna device including a substrate; and an antenna element at least partially connected to the substrate by reflow soldering.

Claims (29)

1 . An antenna device comprising:

a substrate; and

an antenna element at least partially connected to the substrate by reflow soldering, the antenna element being configured as a monopole antenna,

wherein the antenna element includes a pedestal that abuts the substrate.

2 . The antenna device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the antenna element is partially inserted into a through-hole provided in the substrate.

3 . The antenna device according to claim 1 ,

wherein a structure is provided at an end portion of the antenna element opposite the pedestal, wherein the structure is wider than a portion of the antenna element between the pedestal and the structure.

4 . The antenna device according to claim 2 ,

wherein a structure is provided at an end portion of the antenna element opposite the pedestal, wherein the structure is wider than a portion of the antenna element between the pedestal and the structure.

5 . A communication device comprising:

the antenna device according to claim 1 ; and

an element at least partially connected to the substrate and processing a signal transmitted and received by the antenna device.

6 . The antenna device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the pedestal is electrically conductive.

7 . The antenna device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the pedestal supports the antenna element substantially perpendicularly to the substrate.

8 . The antenna device according to claim 3 ,

wherein the structure is a separate member attached to the antenna element.

9 . The antenna device according to claim 4 ,

wherein the structure is a separate member attached to the antenna element.

10 . The antenna device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the pedestal is in physical contact with the substrate.

11 . The antenna device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the pedestal is in direct physical contact with the substrate.

12 . The antenna device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the pedestal includes a flange surrounding an entire periphery of an end portion of the antenna element.

13 . The antenna device according to claim 12 ,

wherein the flange has a substantially annular shape surrounding the entire periphery of the end portion of the antenna element.
