Abstract

A power transmission apparatus includes a first power transmission unit configured to perform wireless power transmission to a power receiving apparatus in a first region by using at least one of a plurality of coils, a second power transmission unit configured to perform wireless power transmission to a power receiving apparatus in a second region by using at least one of the plurality of coils. In a case where, while the first power transmission unit performs wireless power transmission to a first power receiving apparatus in a common region where the first region and the second region overlap, a second power receiving apparatus is placed in a region of the first region other than the common region, the first power transmission unit stops the wireless power transmission to the first power receiving apparatus and the second power transmission unit performs wireless power transmission to the first power receiving apparatus.

Claims (34)

1 . A power transmitting apparatus comprising:

a plurality of coils; and

a unit configured to:

wirelessly transmit a plurality of Pings;

obtain identification information from one or more power receiving apparatuses;

determine whether there are a plurality of power receiving apparatuses based on the obtained identification information;

select coils corresponding respectively to the plurality of power receiving apparatuses in a case where there are the plurality of power receiving apparatuses; and

wirelessly perform power transfer to a first power receiving apparatus in the plurality of power receiving apparatuses via a first coil which is included in the plurality of coils and which corresponds to the first power receiving apparatus and wirelessly perform power transfer to a second power receiving apparatus in the plurality of power receiving apparatuses via a second coil which is included in the plurality of coils and which corresponds to the second power receiving apparatus, wherein

the power transfer to the first power receiving apparatus and the power transfer to the second power receiving apparatus are performed simultaneously, and

no Ping is transmitted via a coil adjacent to the first coil during the power transfer to the first power receiving apparatus via the first coil.

2 . The power transmitting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the Ping is a signal to detect an object.

3 . The power transmitting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the second coil is not the coil adjacent to the first coil.

4 . The power transmitting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the second coil is disposed at a position separated from the first coil by a distance more than a specific distance.

5 . The power transmitting apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein the second coil is a coil in which, during the power transfer to the first power receiving apparatus, communication interference resulting from the power transfer to the first power receiving apparatus is not generated.

6 . The power transmitting apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the coil adjacent to the first coil is a coil in which, during the power transfer to the first power receiving apparatus, communication interference resulting from the power transfer to the first power receiving apparatus is generated.

7 . A method for a power transmitting apparatus comprising a plurality of coils, the method comprising:

wirelessly transmitting a plurality of Pings;

obtaining identification information from one or more power receiving apparatuses;

determining whether there are a plurality of power receiving apparatuses based on the obtained identification information;

selecting coils corresponding respectively to the plurality of power receiving apparatuses in a case where there are the plurality of power receiving apparatuses; and

wirelessly performing power transfer to a first power receiving apparatus in the plurality of power receiving apparatuses via a first coil which is included in the plurality of coils and which corresponds to the first power receiving apparatus and wirelessly performing power transfer to a second power receiving apparatus in the plurality of power receiving apparatuses via a second coil which is included in the plurality of coils and which corresponds to the second power receiving apparatus, wherein

the power transfer to the first power receiving apparatus and the power transfer to the second power receiving apparatus are performed simultaneously, and

no Ping is transmitted via a coil adjacent to the first coil during the power transfer to the first power receiving apparatus via the first coil.

8 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein the Ping is a signal to detect an object.

9 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein the second coil is not the coil adjacent to the first coil.

10 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein the coil adjacent to the first coil is a coil in which, during the power transfer to the first power receiving apparatus, communication interference resulting from the power transfer to the first power receiving apparatus is generated.

11 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program for causing a computer to execute a method for a power transmitting apparatus comprising a plurality of coils, the method comprising:

wirelessly transmitting a plurality of Pings;

obtaining identification information from one or more power receiving apparatuses;

determining whether there are a plurality of power receiving apparatuses based on the obtained identification information;

selecting coils corresponding respectively to the plurality of power receiving apparatuses in a case where there are the plurality of power receiving apparatuses; and

wirelessly performing power transfer to a first power receiving apparatus in the plurality of power receiving apparatuses via a first coil which is included in the plurality of coils and which corresponds to the first power receiving apparatus and wirelessly performing power transfer to a second power receiving apparatus in the plurality of power receiving apparatuses via a second coil which is included in the plurality of coils and which corresponds to the second power receiving apparatus, wherein

the power transfer to the first power receiving apparatus and the power transfer to the second power receiving apparatus are performed simultaneously, and

no Ping is transmitted via a coil adjacent to the first coil during the power transfer to the first power receiving apparatus via the first coil.
