Abstract

According to some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device comprises receiving a sounding reference signal (SRS) configuration for a SRS resource set. The SRS resource set comprises a plurality of SRS resources. The SRS configuration comprises a first periodicity for a first subset of the plurality of SRS resources and a second periodicity for a second subset of the plurality of SRS resources. The method further comprises transmitting the first subset of SRS resources according to the first periodicity and transmitting the second subset of SRS resources according to the second periodicity.

Claims (26)

1 . A method performed by a wireless device, the method comprising:

receiving a sounding reference signal (SRS) configuration for a SRS resource set, the SRS resource set comprising a plurality of SRS resources, the SRS configuration comprising a first periodicity for a first subset of the plurality of SRS resources and a second periodicity for a second subset of the plurality of SRS resources;

transmitting the first subset of SRS resources according to the first periodicity and transmitting the second subset of SRS resources according to the second periodicity.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising obtaining an updated SRS configuration that modifies at least one of the first periodicity and the second periodicity.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the updated SRS configuration is based on a change in an amount of uplink or downlink transmission data.

4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein obtaining the updated SRS configuration comprises receiving the updated SRS configuration from a network node.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the wireless device receives the updated SRS configuration from a network node via at least one of a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) and downlink control information (DCI).

6 . The method of claim 2 , wherein obtaining the updated SRS configuration comprises the wireless device autonomously determining an updated SRS configuration.

7 . A wireless device comprising processing circuitry operable to:

receive a sounding reference signal (SRS) configuration for a SRS resource set, the SRS resource set comprising a plurality of SRS resources, the SRS configuration comprising a first periodicity for a first subset of the plurality of SRS resources and a second periodicity for a second subset of the plurality of SRS resources;

transmit the first subset of SRS resources according to the first periodicity and transmitting the second subset of SRS resources according to the second periodicity.

8 . The wireless device of claim 7 , the processing circuitry further operable to obtain an updated SRS configuration that modifies at least one of the first periodicity and the second periodicity.

9 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the updated SRS configuration is based on a change in an amount of uplink or downlink transmission data.

10 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the processing circuitry is operable to obtain the updated SRS configuration by receiving the updated SRS configuration from a network node.

11 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the processing circuitry is operable to receive the updated SRS configuration from a network node via at least one of a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) and downlink control information (DCI).

12 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the processing circuitry is operable to obtain the updated SRS configuration by the wireless device autonomously determining an updated SRS configuration.

13 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the updated SRS configuration comprises an indication to enable or disable a subset of the plurality of SRS resources.

14 . The wireless device of claim 8 wherein the first subset of the plurality of SRS resources has fewer SRS resources than the second subset of the plurality of SRS resources and the first periodicity is more frequent than the second periodicity.

15 . A network node comprising processing circuitry operable to:

transmit to a wireless device a sounding reference signal (SRS) configuration for a SRS resource set, the SRS resource set comprising a plurality of SRS resources, the SRS configuration comprising a first periodicity for a first subset of the plurality of SRS resources and a second periodicity for a second subset of the plurality of SRS resources; and

receive a SRS transmission on the first subset of SRS resources according to the first periodicity and receiving a SRS transmission on the second subset of SRS resources according to the second periodicity.

16 . The network node of claim 15 , the processing circuitry further operable to transmit to the wireless device an updated SRS configuration that modifies at least one of the first periodicity and the second periodicity.

17 . The network node of claim 16 , wherein the updated SRS configuration is based on a change in an amount of uplink or downlink transmission data.

18 . The network node of claim 16 , wherein the updated SRS configuration comprises an indication to enable or disable a subset of the plurality of SRS resources.

19 . The network node of claim 18 , wherein the processing circuitry is operable to transmit the updated SRS configuration via at least one of a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) and downlink control information (DCI).

20 . The network node of claim 15 , wherein the first subset of the plurality of SRS resources has fewer SRS resources than the second subset of the plurality of SRS resources and the first periodicity is more frequent than the second periodicity.
