Golf shoes and methods for manufacturing golf shoes
An article of footwear comprising an upper component; a footbed provided within the upper component; an insole component extending under the upper component; a midsole component comprising a midsole material; and an outsole component. The insole component and/or the outsole component may comprise one or more surface features configured to mechanically interlock the insole component and/or the outsole component with the midsole component. The midsole material may be configured to extend through the one or more surface features to interlace a portion of the midsole component with the insole component and/or the outsole component.
1 . An article of footwear comprising:
an upper component;
a footbed provided within the upper component;
an insole component extending under the upper component;
a midsole component comprising a midsole material; and
an outsole component comprising a different type of material than the midsole component,
wherein the insole component and the outsole component comprise one or more surface features configured to mechanically interlock with the midsole component, wherein the one or more surface features include (i) a first set of surface features arranged across or along a lower surface of the insole component and (ii) a second set of surface features protruding from an upper surface of the outsole component, wherein the second set of surface features is arranged across or along the upper surface of the outsole component in a staggered configuration,
wherein the midsole material is configured to extend through the first set of surface features and the second set of surface features to interlace an upper portion of the midsole component with the insole component and a lower portion of the midsole component with the outsole component.
2 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the midsole material is configured to extend laterally or horizontally through the one or more surface features to connect the midsole component to the insole component or the outsole component.
3 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the midsole component is integrated with the insole component and/or the outsole component without using any adhesives.
4 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the first set of surface features and the second set of surface features comprise one or more hooks.
5 . The article of footwear of claim 4 , wherein the one or more hooks comprise one or more apertures or holes for the midsole material to extend through.
6 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the upper component comprises one or more apertures or holes providing a fluidic path for forming the footbed within an interior region of the upper component.
7 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the footbed is integrally formed with a bottom interior portion of the upper component.
8 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the footbed is undetachably fixed to the upper component and/or the insole component.
9 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the footbed comprises a same material as the midsole component.
10 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the insole component comprises a board provided between the footbed and the midsole component.
11 . The article of footwear of claim 10 , wherein the board comprises a first set of holes or apertures providing a fluidic path for forming the footbed within an interior region of the upper component.
12 . The article of footwear of claim 11 , wherein the board comprises a second set of holes or apertures configured to engage one or more posts or positioning pins on a last in order to fix a position and/or an orientation of the board as the footbed or the midsole component is being formed.
13 . The article of footwear of claim 12 , wherein the first set of holes or apertures and the second set of holes or apertures have different sizes and/or shapes.
14 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the midsole component comprises a network of material extending through one or more holes or apertures in the upper component and the insole component to connect the footbed and the midsole component.
15 . The article of footwear of claim 14 , wherein the network of material comprises a plurality of interconnecting sections or segments extending between and physically joining the footbed and the midsole component.
16 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the footbed is integrally formed with the midsole component.
17 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the footbed is configured to contact and directly support a foot of a subject wearing the article of footwear.
18 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the second set of surface features comprises a plurality of sub-structures with distal ends that are connected or joined together.
19 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the lower portion of the midsole component is horizontally interlaced with the second set of surface features protruding from the upper surface of the outsole component.
