Surgical platform system
A surgical platform system including a first platform portion, a second platform portion, and a support portion is provided. The support platform supports the first platform portion, and can be moveable relative to a surgical robotic system supporting the second platform portion. With the support portion and the first platform portion positioned relative to the surgical robotic system, the first platform portion supporting a first portion of the patient and the second platform portion supporting a second portion of the patient can be adjusted relative to one another to correspondingly adjust positions/orientations of the first portion and the second portion of the patient. To illustrate, using an end portion supporting the first platform portion, the first platform portion can be rotated about a vertical axis and moved side to side to adjust the position/orientation thereof relative to the second platform portion.
1 . A surgical platform system comprising:
a first platform portion and a support portion supporting the first platform portion,
the support portion including a first support structure, a second support structure, and an adjustment portion, the first support structure having a first end, an opposite second end, a mid-longitudinal axis extending through the first end and the second end of the first support structure, a first end portion at the first end of the first support structure, a second end portion at the second end of the first support structure, and at least one cross member extending between the first end portion and the second end portion of the first support structure, the second end portion including a slider portion and a rotator portion supported by the slider portion, the second support structure extending upwardly from the rotator portion of the first support structure, the second support structure vertically spacing the adjustment portion apart from the first support structure, and the adjustment portion rotatably and tiltably supporting the first platform portion relative to the first support structure and the second support structure; and
the first platform portion including a first end, an opposite second end, a first side and a second side opposite one another and positioned between the first end and the second end, a head support, and a chest support supported by the first platform portion;
wherein the support portion is positionable relative to a robotic system, and a second platform portion supported relative to the robotic system;
wherein, when the support portion is positioned relative to the robotic system, the first platform portion and the second platform portion are positioned adjacent to one another and separated by a gap between the first end of the first platform portion and the second platform portion; and
wherein the first platform portion is moveable side-to-side across the mid-longitudinal axis via operation of the slider portion, the first platform portion is rotatable about an axis transverse to the mid-longitudinal axis via operation of the rotator portion, and the first platform portion is at least one of tiltable and rotatable about an axis aligned with the mid-longitudinal axis via operation of the adjustment portion.

The surgical platform system of claim 1 , wherein the first platform portion can support an upper body portion of a patient, the second platform portion can support a lower body portion of the patient, and side-to-side movement of the first platform portion via the operation of the slider portion, and rotational movement of the first platform portion via the operation of the rotator portion correspondingly manipulates the upper body portion relative to the lower body portion of the patient.

The surgical platform system of claim 1 , wherein the first platform portion can support an upper body portion of a patient, the second platform portion can support a lower body portion of the patient, and tilting movement and rotational movement via operation of the adjustment portion correspondingly manipulates the upper body portion relative to the lower body portion of the patient.

The surgical platform system of claim 1 , wherein the second support structure is expandable and contractible between a first height and a second height to correspondingly move the first platform portion upwardly and downwardly relative to the first support structure via operation of the second support structure.

The surgical platform system of claim 4 , where the first platform portion can support an upper body portion of a patient, the second platform portion can support a lower body portion of the patient, and upward and downward movement of the first platform portion via operation of the second support structure correspondingly manipulates the upper body portion of the patient relative to the lower body of the patient.

The surgical platform system of claim 1 , further comprising at least one platen supporting the head support and the chest support, the at least one platen being moveably supported between a first rail adjacent the first side of the first platform portion and a second rail adjacent the second side of the first platform portion.
7 . The surgical platform system of claim 6 , wherein at least one of the head support and the chest support are adjustable relative to the first rail and the second rail of the first platform portion via movement of the at least one platen therealong.

The surgical platform system of claim 1 , further comprising a first positioner portion attached to the first support structure and a second positioner portion attached relative to the robotic system, and engagement of the first positioner portion and the second positioner portion initially positions the support portion relative to the robotic system.

The surgical platform system of claim 8 , wherein positioning of the first support structure relative to the robotic system via positioning of the first positioner portion relative to the second positioner portion correspondingly adjusts a length of the first platform portion and the second platform portion to accommodate patients of different sizes.

The surgical platform system of claim 1 , further comprising the robotic system and the second platform portion supported by the robotic system, wherein the second platform portion is at least one of moveable upwardly/downwardly, rotatable, and tiltable by the robotic system relative to the first platform portion.
11 . A surgical platform system comprising:
a first platform portion and a support portion supporting the first platform portion,
the support portion including a first support structure, a second support structure, and an adjustment portion, the first support structure having a first end, an opposite second end, a mid-longitudinal axis extending through the first end and the second end of the first support structure, and a first positioner portion attached to the first support structure, the first support structure including a slider portion and a rotator portion supported by the slider portion, the second support structure extending upwardly from the rotator portion of the first support structure, the second support structure vertically spacing the adjustment portion apart from the first support structure, and the adjustment portion rotatably and tiltably supporting the first platform portion relative to the first support structure and the second support structure; and
the first platform portion including a first end, an opposite second end, a first side and a second side opposite one another and positioned between the first end and the second end, a head support, and a chest support supported by the first platform portion;
wherein the support portion is positionable relative to a robotic system, and a second platform portion supported relative to the robotic system, and the first positioner portion is engageable to a second positioner portion attached relative to the robotic system to initially position the support portion relative to the robotic system;
wherein, when the support portion is positioned relative to the robotic system, the first platform portion and the second platform portion are positioned adjacent to one another and separated by a gap between the first end of the first platform portion and the second platform portion; and
wherein the first platform portion is moveable side-to-side across the mid-longitudinal axis via operation of the slider portion, the first platform portion is rotatable about an axis transverse to the mid-longitudinal axis via operation of the rotator portion, and the first platform portion is at least one of tiltable and rotatable about an axis aligned with the mid-longitudinal axis via operation of the adjustment portion.
12 . The surgical platform system of claim 11 , wherein the first platform portion can support an upper body portion of a patient, the second platform portion can support a lower body portion of the patient, and side-to-side movement of the first platform portion via the operation of the slider portion, and rotational movement of the first platform portion via the operation of the rotator portion correspondingly manipulates the upper body portion relative to the lower body portion of the patient.

The surgical platform system of claim 11 , wherein the first platform portion can support an upper body portion of a patient, the second platform portion can support a lower body portion of the patient, and tilting movement and rotational movement via operation of the adjustment portion correspondingly manipulates the upper body portion relative to the lower body portion of the patient.

The surgical platform system of claim 11 , wherein the second support structure is expandable and contractible between a first height and a second height to correspondingly move the first platform portion upwardly and downwardly relative to the first support structure via operation of the second support structure.

The surgical platform system of claim 14 , where the first platform portion can support an upper body portion of a patient, the second platform portion can support a lower body portion of the patient, and upward and downward movement of the first platform portion via operation of the second support structure correspondingly manipulates the upper body portion of the patient relative to the lower body of the patient.
16 . The surgical platform system of claim 11 , wherein positioning of the first support structure relative to the robotic system via positioning of the first positioner portion relative to the second positioner portion correspondingly adjusts a length of the first platform portion and the second platform portion to accommodate patients of different sizes.

The surgical platform system of claim 11 , further comprising the robotic system and the second platform portion supported by the robotic system, wherein the second platform portion is at least one of moveable upwardly/downwardly, rotatable, and tiltable by the robotic system relative to the first platform portion.
18 . A surgical platform system comprising:
at platform portion and a support portion supporting the platform portion,
the support portion including a first support structure, a second support structure, and an adjustment portion, the first support structure having a first end, an opposite second end, a mid-longitudinal axis extending through the first end and the second end of the first support structure, and a first positioner portion attached to the first support structure, the first support structure including a slider portion and a rotator portion supported by the slider portion, the second support structure extending upwardly from the rotator portion of the first support structure, the second support structure vertically spacing the adjustment portion apart from the first support structure, and the adjustment portion rotatably and tiltably supporting the platform portion relative to the first support structure and the second support structure; and
the platform portion including a first end, an opposite second end, a first side and a second side opposite one another and positioned between the first end and the second end, a head support, and a chest support supported by the platform portion;
wherein the support portion is positionable relative to a robotic system, and the first positioner portion is engageable to a second positioner portion attached relative to the robotic system to initially position the support portion relative to the robotic system;
wherein, when the support portion is positioned relative to the robotic system, the platform portion and is positioned adjacent to a portion of the robotic system across a gap; and
wherein the platform portion is moveable side-to-side across the mid-longitudinal axis via operation of the slider portion, the platform portion is rotatable about an axis transverse to the mid-longitudinal axis via operation of the rotator portion, and the platform portion is at least one of tiltable and rotatable about an axis aligned with the mid-longitudinal axis via operation of the adjustment portion.
19 . The surgical platform system of claim 18 , wherein the platform portion can support an upper body portion of a patient, the portion of the robotic system can support a lower body portion of the patient, and side-to-side movement of the platform portion via the operation of the slider portion, and rotational movement of the platform portion via the operation of the rotator portion correspondingly manipulates the upper body portion relative to the lower body portion of the patient.

The surgical platform system of claim 18 , wherein the platform portion can support an upper body portion of a patient, the portion of the robotic system can support a lower body portion of the patient, and tilting movement and rotational movement via operation of the adjustment portion correspondingly manipulates the upper body portion relative to the lower body portion of the patient.
