Abstract

A heating apparatus includes a tubular film, a heater, a first support member including a first regulation surface, and configured to rotatably support a first end of the film, a second support member including a second regulation surface, and configured to rotatably support a second end of the film, and a holding unit configured to hold the heater and determine a position of the heater in the longitudinal direction. Either one of the first support member and the second support member includes a positioning portion configured to determine a position of the holding unit in the longitudinal direction.

Claims (29)

1 . A heating apparatus for heating a toner image on a recording material while nipping and conveying the recording material at a nip portion, the heat image heating apparatus comprising:

a first side plate;

a second side plate;

a tubular film provided between the first side plate and the second side plate;

a rotary member opposing the film to form the nip portion between the rotary member and the film;

a heater disposed in an inner space of the film and including a substrate and a heating resistor mounted on the substrate;

a holding unit configured to hold the heater; and

first and second regulation members configured to regulate a movement of the film in a longitudinal direction of the heater,

wherein the first regulation member includes clamp portions configured to clamp the first side plate, and the second regulation member includes clamp portions configured to clamp the second side plate, and

wherein the first regulation member includes a first positioning portion configured to position the holding unit in the longitudinal direction, the first positioning portion being disposed at a position that overlaps, in the longitudinal direction, with a position where the clamp portions of the first regulation member clamp the first side plate and that does not overlap, in a conveyance direction of the recording material, with the clamp portions of the first regulation member, and

wherein the holding unit includes a second positioning portion disposed between one end and a center of the holding unit in the longitudinal direction, the second positioning portion being configured to fit with the first positioning portion so that the holding unit is positioned with respect to the first regulation member.

2 . The heating apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the holding unit includes a heater holder configured to hold the heater and a reinforcing member configured to reinforce the heater holder, and

wherein the reinforcing member is fitted to a notch formed at one end side of the reinforcing member in the longitudinal direction.

3 . The heating apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein one of the first regulation member and the holding unit includes a projecting portion projecting in a direction intersecting with a conveyance direction of the recording material and the longitudinal direction, and

wherein the other of the first regulation member and the holding unit includes a concave portion concaved in the direction intersecting with the conveyance direction of the recording material and the longitudinal direction, and

wherein the projecting portion is fitted to the concave portion so that the holding unit is fitted to the first regulation member.

4 . The heating apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second regulation members include regulation surfaces configured to regulate the movement of the film,

wherein a distance between the regulation surface of the first regulation member and the regulation surface of the second regulation member on an upstream side of the nip portion in the conveyance direction is shorter than a distance between the regulation surface of the first regulation member and the regulation surface of the second regulation member on an downstream side of the nip portion in the conveyance direction.

5 . The heating apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the first regulation member includes a portion configured to position the first regulation member to the holding unit, the portion formed downstream of the center of the holding unit in a conveyance direction of the recording material.

6 . An image forming apparatus comprising:

an image forming portion configured to form an image on a recording material; and

the heating apparatus according to claim 1 .

7 . The heating apparatus according to claim 1 ,

wherein the first positioning portion includes a first contact surface and a second contact surface,

wherein the second positioning portion includes a first touching surface and a second touching surface, the first touching surface being capable of coming into contact with the first contact surface in a manner facing the first contact surface in a second direction, the second touching surface being capable of coming into contact with the second contact surface in a manner facing the second contact surface in a first direction, and

wherein, in a state where the second positioning portion is fitted to the first positioning portion, either the first contact surface and the first touching surface or the second contact surface and the second touching surface are configured to come into contact with each other.

8 . The heating apparatus according to claim 1 ,

wherein either one of the first positioning portion and the second positioning portion is formed in a convex shape projecting to a direction intersecting with a conveyance direction of a recording material and the longitudinal direction, and

wherein another of the first positioning portion and the second positioning portion is formed in a concave shape fitting to the convex shape.
