Abstract

Embodiments included herein are directed towards a method for use in an electronic design. The method may include receiving, at a graphical user interface, a first indication to integrate a first fabric associated with the electronic design. The method may further include, in response to receiving the first indication, receiving first data associated with the first fabric. The method may also include launching, based at least in part on the first data, a first distributed electronic design application session corresponding to the first fabric. The method may additionally include determining, based at least in part on the first data, a first top level layout of the first fabric. Furthermore, the method may include generating a first plurality of technology independent elements corresponding to the first fabric.

Claims (52)

1 . A computer-implemented method for use in an electronic design, comprising:

receiving, at a graphical user interface, a first indication to integrate a first fabric associated with the electronic design;

in response to receiving the first indication, receiving first data associated with the first fabric;

launching, based at least in part on the first data, a first distributed interactive electronic design application (EDA) session corresponding to the first fabric, wherein a distributed interactive EDA session refers to a multi-process application that runs on more than one computing device and includes a plurality of different applications that may be distributed on multiple computers or a farm of computers, the plurality of different applications are configured to communicate with each other and a user interacts with one of the plurality of different applications at a given time;

determining, based at least in part on the first data, a first top level layout of the first fabric; and

generating a first plurality of technology independent elements corresponding to the first fabric.

2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

packaging the first plurality of technology independent elements corresponding to the first fabric.

3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 2 , further comprising:

exporting second data associated with the first plurality of technology independent elements.

4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , wherein exporting the second data allows the first plurality of technology independent elements to be available in a main distributed EDA session associated with the electronic design.

5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , further comprising:

instantiating one or more of the first plurality of technology independent elements.

6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining, based at least in part on second data, a second top level layout of a second fabric associated with the electronic design after receiving a second indication to integrate the second fabric;

generating a second plurality of technology independent elements corresponding to the second fabric at least partially in parallel to generating the first plurality of technology independent elements; and

packaging the first and second pluralities of technology independent elements corresponding to the first and second fabrics, respectively.

7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 6 , further comprising:

exporting third data associated with the first and second pluralities of technology independent elements.

8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 7 , wherein exporting the third data allows the first and second pluralities of technology independent elements to be available in a main distributed EDA session associated with the electronic design.

9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 6 , further comprising at least one of:

instantiating one or more of the first plurality of technology independent elements; and

instantiating one or more of the second plurality of technology independent element.

10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 6 , further comprising:

storing third data associated with the first plurality of technology independent elements in a first cell of a library; and

storing fourth data associated with the second plurality of technology independent elements in a second cell of the library.

11 . A system comprising a computing device having at least one processor and a memory, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:

receive, at a graphical user interface, a first indication to integrate a first fabric associated with an electronic design;

in response to receiving the first indication, receive first data associated with the first fabric;

launch, based at least in part on the first data, a first distributed interactive electronic design application (EDA) session corresponding to the first fabric, wherein a distributed interactive EDA session refers to a multi-process application that runs on more than one computing device and includes a plurality of different applications that may be distributed on multiple computers or a farm of computers, the plurality of different applications are configured to communicate with each other and a user interacts with one of the plurality of different applications at a given time;

determine, based at least in part on the first data, a first top level layout of the first fabric; and

generate a first plurality of technology independent elements corresponding to the first fabric.

12 . The system claim of 11 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

package the first plurality of technology independent elements corresponding to the first fabric.

13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

export second data associated with the first plurality of technology independent elements.

14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein exporting the second data allows the first plurality of technology independent elements to be available in a main distributed EDA session associated with the electronic design.

15 . The system claim of 13 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

instantiate one or more of the first plurality of technology independent elements.

16 . The system claim of 11 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

determine, based at least in part on second data, a second top level layout of a second fabric associated with the electronic design after receiving a second indication to integrate the second fabric;

generate a second plurality of technology independent elements corresponding to the second fabric at least partially in parallel to generating the first plurality of technology independent elements; and

package the first and second pluralities of technology independent elements corresponding to the first and second fabrics, respectively.

17 . The system claim of 16 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

export third data associated with the first and second pluralities of technology independent elements.
