Abstract

A computer-implemented method of determining candidate peer-to-peer (P2P) platforms associated with a single transaction identifier is disclosed. In an example, a payment processing platform can receive data from a user device, the data associated with capture by the user device of a transaction identifier. The PPP determines that the transaction identifier is associated with multiple peer-to-peer (P2P) platforms. Information associated with the transaction (e.g., customer, merchant, etc.) is accessed. Candidate P2P platforms are identified based at least in part on determining that the each of the candidate P2P platform's contextual criterion for processing is met. The candidates are presented to the user via the user device, and an authorization request is sent to a user-selected P2P platform of the candidate P2P platforms.

Claims (68)

1 . A computer-implemented method comprising:

receiving, by one or more servers of a payment processing platform and from a user device of a customer, data associated with a capture by the user device of a transaction identifier relevant to the customer and a merchant;

determining, by the one or more servers of the payment processing platform, that the transaction identifier is associated with a plurality of peer-to-peer (P2P) payment platforms;

accessing, by the one or more servers of the payment processing platform, information associated with one or more of the customer, the merchant, or a transaction between the customer and the merchant;

identifying, by the one or more servers of the payment processing platform, one or more P2P payment platforms of the plurality of P2P payment platforms as candidate P2P payment platforms, wherein identifying an individual P2P payment platform as a candidate P2P payment platform comprises determining, based at least in part on the information associated with the at least one of the customer, the merchant, or the transaction, that the transaction meets at least one contextual criterion for processing specified by the individual P2P payment platform;

causing presentation, by the one or more servers of the payment processing platform and on a display of the user device, of an indication of the candidate P2P payment platforms and a prompt for a selection of one of the candidate P2P payment platforms; and
