System and method for curating memories
Systems and methods are provided that include receiving a first image of a first portion of a greeting card wherein the first image includes identifying data useable to identify the first image, storing the identifying data in a datastore, associating the identifying data with a first user, determining characterization information from the first image that characterizes aspects of the first image, receiving from a computing device a second image of a second portion of the greeting card wherein the second image includes at least part of the first portion of the greeting card, utilizing the second image to identify the first user, correlating the characterization information of the first image to attributes of one or more product offerings, and communicating an indication of at least one of the product offerings to the computing device.
1 . One or more non-transitory computer-storage media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon that, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform a method, the method comprising:
receiving a first image of a first portion of a greeting card wherein the first image includes identifying data useable to identify the first image;
storing the identifying data in a datastore;
associating the identifying data with a first user;
determining characterization information from the first image that characterizes aspects of the first image;
receiving from the computing device a second image of a second portion of the greeting card wherein the second image includes at least part of the first portion of the greeting card;
utilizing the second image as a lookup key to identify the first user;
correlating the characterization information of the first image to attributes of one or more product offerings; and
communicating an indication of at least one of the product offerings to the computing device.
2 . The computer-storage media of claim 1 , wherein the first image includes a set of fiducial marks that are recognizable by a computer software program, wherein the fiducial marks allow the size and location of the first image to be determined in absolute terms.
3 . The computer-storage media of claim 1 , wherein the greeting card is a physical card or digital card.
4 . The computer-storage media of claim 1 , wherein the identifying data is all or a portion of the first image itself, including an image on a face of the greeting card.
5 . The computer-storage media of claim 1 , wherein storing the identifying data in the datastore includes one or more of (1) storing the first image itself or (2) storing information about the first image.
6 . The computer-storage media of claim 1 , wherein utilizing the second image to identify the first user is facilitated by comparing attributes of the second image and to attributes of the first image, wherein the attributes of both the first and second images were stored via the computing device.
7 . The computer-storage media of claim 1 , wherein correlating the characterization information of the first image with attributes of one or more digital offerings includes referencing one or more of the following:
past purchasing information about other users who have attributes in common with the first user;
products rated highly by other users who have attributes in common with the first user;
past purchasing information about purchases of a second user;
attributes of the second user;
attributes of the first user;
attributes of other users who have attributes in common with the first user;
attributes of other users who have attributes in common with the second user; or
attributes of the first image.
