Electronic gaming system providing repeat win amounts for use during volatility selection feature games
View Patent ↗An electronic gaming system includes a display device, a memory, and a processor. The processor is configured to perform a variety of operations, including, for example, determining whether a trigger condition has occurred during a base game, and determining a repeat win amount during the base game. In at least some embodiments, the processor is also configured to control the display device to display a plurality of selections, each selection corresponding to a feature game, in response to occurrence of the trigger condition. Each feature game may be associated with a win volatility and displayed in association with information about the win volatility, and each win volatility may be based, at least in part, upon the repeat win amount determined during the base game.
1 . A gaming system comprising:
a memory; and
a processor configured to execute instructions stored in the memory, which when executed, cause the processor to:
receive data indicating an array of symbols for an outcome of a base game, the array of symbols including a spot prize symbol;
generate an output from a random number generator (RNG) stored in the memory;
perform a lookup of weight tables stored in the memory using the RNG output to store, in the memory, a spot prize value in association with the spot prize symbol;
store, in the memory, a repeat win amount based on the spot prize value, wherein the repeat win amount provides a basis for recurring awards for one or more feature games;
store, in the memory, a first generated repeat value and a second generated repeat value, the first repeat value being based on a first multiple of the repeat win amount and the second repeat value being based on a second, different, multiple of the repeat win amount;
cause display of a first feature game selection including the first repeat value and a first number of free spins; and
cause display of a second feature game selection including the second repeat value and a second number of free spins.
2 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to:
receive a data input corresponding to the first feature game selection; and
cause display of a first feature game corresponding to the first feature game selection.
3 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein first multiple is less than the second multiple and the first number of free spins is greater than the second number of free spins.
4 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the second feature game selection includes a plurality of second repeat values, each second repeat value associated with the second number of free spins, and wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to at least:
receive a data input corresponding to the second feature game selection; and
generate, in response to receiving the data input, an additional RNG output; and
select one of the second repeat values from the plurality of second repeat values based on the additional RNG output.
5 . The gaming system of claim 4 , wherein each of the second repeat values is based on a different multiple of the repeat win amount.
6 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the first repeat value is equal to the first multiple of the repeat win amount.
7 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the array of symbols includes a plurality of spot prize symbols, each spot prize symbol of the plurality of spot prize symbols having an associated spot prize value, and wherein the repeat win amount is based on a sum of the spot prize values of the plurality of spot prize symbols.
8 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to at least:
in response to a predefined number of spot prize symbols being included in the outcome of the base game, determine that a trigger condition has occurred, wherein display of the first feature game selection and the second feature game selection is performed in response to determining that the trigger condition has occurred.
9 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to at least:
cause display of a first feature game corresponding to the first feature game selection; and
award the first repeat value in response to at least one feature prize symbol being displayed during the first feature game.
10 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein a first feature game corresponding to the first feature game selection and a second feature game corresponding to the second feature game selection each have different win volatilities.
11 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to:
generate a third feature game selection associated with an interactive series of free games;
cause display of an additional array of symbols, the additional array of symbols including a plurality of columns and a plurality of rows;
receive a player selection of one column of the array;
cause display of spinning and stopping of a reel strip in the player selected column;
determine whether at least one symbol displayed in the player selected column is a defined symbol; and
in response to the at least one symbol being the defined symbol, award a third repeat value, the third repeat value being based on the repeat win amount.
12 . The gaming system of claim 11 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to at least:
determine a value of the third repeat value based upon the player selected column of the array, wherein the value of the third repeat value is a different multiple of the repeat win amount for each column of the array.
13 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium containing instructions embodied thereon, which when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:
receive data indicating an array of symbols for an outcome of a base game, the array of symbols including one or more spot prize symbols;
generate an output of a random number generator (RNG) stored on the non-transitory computer-readable medium;
perform a lookup of weight tables using the RNG output to store, in the non-transitory computer-readable medium, spot prize values in association with the one or more spot prize symbols, wherein the weight tables are stored on the non-transitory computer-readable medium;
store, in the non-transitory computer-readable medium, a repeat win amount based on the spot prize value, wherein the repeat win amount provides a basis for recurring awards for one or more feature games;
store, in the non-transitory computer-readable medium, a first generated repeat value and a second generated repeat value, the first repeat value being based on a first multiple of the repeat win amount and the second repeat value being based on a second, different, multiple of the repeat win amount;
cause display of a first feature game selection for a first feature game, the first feature game selection including a first repeat value and a first number of free spins; and
cause display of a second feature game selection for a second feature game, the second feature game selection including a second repeat value and a second number of free spins.
