Abstract

Athletic performance monitoring and tracking may provide multiple ways in which to track athletic movement and activity. Workouts may also be tagged with various parameters including mood, weather, terrain, athletic equipment, friends used and the like. Workout information may be shared to social messaging and networking outlets. Workout information shared may include map information including images of maps, interactive maps, links to maps, route information and the like and/or combinations thereof. Additionally or alternatively, an application may be configured to execute within a context of a social networking system to facilitate athletic activity data transfer and generation of workout entries in the social networking site.

Claims (53)

1 . An apparatus comprising:

a processor;

a sensor; and

a memory storing computer-readable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the apparatus to:

initiate a first activity game including a plurality of users, wherein the first activity game is a race comprising multiple types of activities to be completed by the plurality of users, and wherein the plurality of users includes a first user and a second user;

transmit, to a second computing device associated with the second user, an invitation to participate in the first activity game;

receive, from the second computing device, an indication the second user will participate in the first activity game;

output, in response to receiving the indication the second user will participate in the first activity game, a user interface displaying a first icon associated with the first user and a second icon associated with the second user;

upon receiving, from a first wearable device, activity data associated with the first user performing the first activity game, convert the activity data associated with the first user performing the first activity game to a first performance metric;

calculate an accumulated performance metric of the first user based on the first performance metric and based on one or more performance metrics from first user completed activities of the multiple types of activities in the race; and

update a position of the first icon relative to the second icon based on the accumulated performance metric of the first user.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the first icon and the second icon indicate the first activity game.

3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the multiple types of activities comprise running, swimming, and biking.

4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the first icon indicates a performance metric of the first user and the second icon indicates a performance metric of the second user.

5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the apparatus to:

determine that the first user or the second user has won the first activity game.

6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the apparatus to:

display, on the user interface, a first activity level associated with the first user.

7 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the apparatus to:

receive a message from the first user and displaying the message on the user interface.

8 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the apparatus to:

displaying, on the user interface, a second activity level associated with a second user.

9 . A method comprising:

initiating, by a first computing device associated with a first user, a first activity game associated including a plurality of users, wherein the first activity game is a race comprising multiple types of activities to be completed by the plurality of users, and wherein the plurality of users includes the first user and a second user;

transmitting, to a second computing device associated with the second user, an invitation to participate in the first activity game;

receiving, from the second computing device, an indication the second user will participate in the first activity game;

outputting, in response to receiving the indication the second user will participate in the first activity game, a user interface displaying a first icon associated with the first user and a second icon associated with the second user;

upon receiving, from a first wearable device, a first performance metric associated with the first user performing the first activity game, calculate an accumulated performance metric of the first user based on the first performance metric and based on one or more performance metrics from first user completed activities of the multiple types of activities in the race; and

update a position of the first icon relative to the second icon based on the accumulated performance metric of the first user.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the first icon and the second icon indicate the first activity game.

11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the multiple types of activities comprise running, swimming, and biking.

12 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:

determining that the first user or the second user has won the first activity game.

13 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:

receiving a message from the first user and displaying the message on the user interface.

14 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:

receiving, from the first user, a first activity level associated with the first user.

15 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising:

displaying, on the user interface, the first activity level associated with the first user.

16 . A method comprising

initiating, by a first computing device associated with a first user, a first activity game associated including a plurality of users, wherein the first activity game is a race comprising multiple types of activities to be completed by the plurality of users, and wherein the plurality of users includes the first user and a second user;

transmitting, to a second computing device associated with the second user, an invitation to participate in the first activity game;

receiving, from the second computing device, an indication the second user will participate in the first activity game;

outputting, in response to receiving the indication the second user will participate in the first activity game, a user interface displaying the second user's indication it will participate in the first activity game;

upon receiving, from a first wearable device, activity data associated with the first user performing the first activity game, convert the activity data associated with the first user performing the first activity game to a first performance metric;

calculate an accumulated performance metric of the first user based on the first performance metric and based on one or more performance metrics from first user completed activities of the multiple types of activities in the race; and

update the user interface based on the accumulated performance metric of the first user.

17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the multiple types of activities comprise running, swimming, and biking.

18 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising:

determining that the first user or the second user has won the first activity game.

19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein a first icon and a second icon indicate the first activity game.

20 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising:

displaying, on the user interface, a first activity level associated with the first user.
