Abstract

Disclosed therein are a method, an apparatus, and a storage medium for image encoding/decoding. Templating matching is used for prediction for a target block. Prediction information to be applied to encoding of the target block is determined, and prediction for the target block that uses the determined prediction information is performed. The prediction information includes a list and multiple candidates in the list. When the multiple candidates in the list are configured, template matching between blocks may be used. A candidate selected from among multiple candidates configured using template matching is used for prediction for the target block.

Claims (40)

1 . A video decoding method, comprising:

determining prediction information for a target block based on information related to a prediction method; and

performing prediction on the target block using the prediction information, wherein the prediction information comprises a list, the list comprising reordered candidates is generated by performing reordering for candidates according to an ascending order for template matching costs of the candidates,

a specific number of the candidates are selected according to the ascending order for the template matching costs of the candidates to determine the reordered candidates,

the candidates are determined by a plurality of blocks at a plurality of specific positions determined by a position of the target block,

each of the plurality of blocks is spatially adjacent to the target block, and

the plurality of blocks comprise at least one block which is horizontally or vertically adjacent to a side of the target block and not adjacent to any corner of the target block.

2 . The video decoding method of claim 1 , wherein:

the prediction comprises prediction using Intra Block Copy (IBC) mode.

3 . The video decoding method of claim 1 , wherein:

the prediction uses a block vector.

4 . A video encoding method, comprising:

determining prediction information for a target block based on information relation on related to a prediction method; and

performing prediction on the target block using the prediction information, wherein

the prediction information comprises a list,

the list comprising reordered candidates is generated by performing reordering for candidates according to an ascending order for template matching costs of the candidates,

a specific number of the candidates are selected according to the ascending order for the template matching costs of the candidates to determine the reordered candidates,

the candidates are determined by a plurality of blocks at a plurality of specific positions determined by a position of the target block,

each of the plurality of blocks is spatially adjacent to the target block, and

the plurality of blocks comprise at least one block which is horizontally or vertically adjacent to a side of the target block and not adjacent to any corner of the target block.

5 . A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing a bitstream generated by the video encoding method of claim 4 .

6 . A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing a bitstream, the bitstream comprising:

information related to a prediction method, wherein prediction information for a target block is determined based on the information related to the prediction method; and

prediction on the target block is performed using the prediction information, wherein

the prediction information comprises a list,

the list comprising reordered candidates is generated by performing reordering for candidates according to an ascending order for template matching costs of the candidates,

a specific number of the candidates are selected according to the ascending order for the template matching costs of the candidates to determine the reordered candidates,

the candidates are determined by a plurality of blocks at a plurality of specific positions determined by a position of the target block,

each of the plurality of blocks is spatially adjacent to the target block, and

the plurality of blocks comprise at least one block which is horizontally or vertically adjacent to a side of the target block and not adjacent to any corner of the target block.

7 . A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing a bitstream, the bitstream comprising:

bitstream data representing information related to a prediction method,

wherein the bitstream data is configured to cause a decoder to:

determine prediction information for a target block based on the information related to the prediction method, and

perform prediction on the target block using the prediction information,

wherein the prediction information comprises a list generated by reordering candidates according to an ascending order for template matching costs of the candidates,

wherein a specific number of the candidates are selected according to the ascending order to determine the reordered candidates,

the candidates are determined by a plurality of blocks at a plurality of specific positions determined by a position of the target block,

each of the plurality of blocks is spatially adjacent to the target block, and

the plurality of blocks comprise at least one block which is horizontally or vertically adjacent to a side of the target block and not adjacent to any corner of the target block.
