Abstract

An absorbent structure including an absorbent pad having cellulose fluff mixed with superabsorbent granular material, and at least one fluff-free absorbent insert inserted into at least one through-opening of the absorbent pad.

Claims (16)

1 . An absorbent structure, comprising:

an absorbent pad comprising cellulose fluff and having an upper surface, an opposed lower surface, an outer perimeter and at least one through-opening positioned within the outer perimeter extending through the upper and lower surfaces, the at least one through-opening having a first shape with a first size and a first outer perimeter; and

at least one fluff-free absorbent insert comprising a non-woven layer in which superabsorbent material is incorporated, the at least one fluff-free absorbent insert having a second shape with a second size and a second outer perimeter, the second shape corresponding to the first shape, the second size being smaller than the first size;

said at least one fluff-free absorbent insert is positioned within said at least one through-opening of said absorbent pad with the second outer perimeter being spaced apart from and inside of the first outer perimeter thereby forming a gap between the at least one fluff-free absorbent insert and the absorbent pad, the gap surrounding the at least one fluff-free absorbent insert so that said at least one fluff-free absorbent insert is spaced apart from and surrounded by the cellulose fluff of the absorbent pad.

2 . The absorbent structure of claim 1 , comprising a non-woven web to which said at least one fluff-free absorbent insert is fixed.

3 . The absorbent structure of claim 1 , comprising two non-woven webs sandwiching the absorbent pad and said at least one fluff-free absorbent insert.

4 . The absorbent structure of claim 3 , wherein said two non-woven webs are fixed to each other through the gap formed between the absorbent pad and said at least one fluff-free absorbent insert.

5 . The absorbent structure of claim 3 , comprising at least one acquisition and distribution layer arranged outside of said two non-woven webs on a surface of an assembly formed by the absorbent pad and at least one fluff-free absorbent insert.

6 . The absorbent structure of claim 1 , comprising two non-woven webs sandwiching the absorbent pad,

wherein the two non-woven webs have respective portions superimposed on each other inside the at least one through-opening, and

wherein said at least one fluff-free absorbent insert is housed in a respective through-opening of the absorbent pad superimposed on the portions of the two non-woven webs, which extend inside the respective through-opening.

7 . The absorbent structure of claim 1 , wherein the at least one through-opening comprises two through-openings within which respective fluff-free absorbent inserts are inserted.

8 . The absorbent structure of claim 1 , wherein said at least one through-opening has at least one curved side.

9 . The absorbent structure of claim 1 , wherein said absorbent pad comprises cellulose fluff mixed with superabsorbent granular material.

10 . The absorbent structure of claim 1 , comprising at least one acquisition and distribution layer arranged on a surface of an assembly formed by the absorbent pad and the at least one fluff-free absorbent insert.

11 . An absorbent sanitary article comprising an absorbent structure according to claim 1 .
