Abstract

A display device includes a display panel, a panel protective film disposed below the display panel, and a first adhesive layer disposed between the display panel and the panel protective film, where a test speed of a tensile test of the panel protective film is about 5 millimeters per minute (mm/min), Young's modulus of the panel protective film is measured in a range of strain in which strain of the panel protective film is about 0.05 percent (%) to about 0.5%, and the panel protective film has the Young's modulus of about 4324 megapascals (MPa) to about 4792 MPa at about 25 degrees Celsius.

Claims (52)

1 . A carrier film comprising:

a first protective film;

a second protective film disposed on the first protective film;

a panel protective film disposed between the first protective film and the second protective film;

a dummy adhesive layer disposed between the first protective film and the panel protective film;

a first adhesive layer disposed between the panel protective film and the second protective film; and

a release agent coated on a bottom surface of the second protective film facing the panel protective film, the release agent having a thickness less than a thickness of the second protective film,

wherein a test speed of a tensile test of the panel protective film is about 5 millimeters per minute, and Young's modulus of the panel protective film is measured in a range of strain in which strain of the panel protective film is about 0.05 percent to about 0.5 percent,

the panel protective film has the Young's modulus of about 4324 megapascals to about 4792 megapascals at about 25 degrees Celsius, and has the Young's modulus of about 3646 megapascals to about 3924 megapascals at about 85 degrees Celsius,

an adhesive strength of the first adhesive layer is greater than an adhesive strength of the dummy adhesive layer so that the dummy adhesive layer adheres to the first protective film more strongly than to the panel protective film, and

when the second protective film is separated, the first adhesive layer remains on an upper surface of the panel protective film, the first adhesive layer having a stronger adhesive strength than the dummy adhesive layer is attached to a lower surface of a substrate of the display panel, and then the dummy adhesive layer having a weaker adhesive strength than the first adhesive layer and the first protective film are removed from the panel protective film.

2 . The carrier film of claim 1 , wherein,

at about 25 degrees Celsius, stress of a yielding point of the panel protective film is about 59.49 megapascals to about 68.13 megapascals, and strain of the yielding point of the panel protective film is about 1.47 percent to about 1.54 percent,

at about 85 degrees Celsius, the stress of the yielding point of the panel protective film is about 46.56 megapascals to about 51.58 megapascals, and the strain of the yielding point of the panel protective film is about 1.29 percent to about 1.49 percent, and

at about 210 degrees Celsius, the stress of the yielding point of the panel protective film is about 29.97 megapascals to about 31.34 megapascals, and the strain of the yielding point of the panel protective film is about 1.19 percent to about 1.26 percent.

The carrier film of claim 1 , wherein the panel protective film has a storage modulus of about 2391 megapascals to about 2419 megapascals at about 25 degrees Celsius and a storage modulus of about 2181 megapascals to about 2237 megapascals at about 60 degrees Celsius when a vibration having an amplitude of about 10 micrometers and a frequency of about 1 Hertz is applied to the panel protective film and a force track is set to about 125 percent.

4 . The carrier film of claim 1 , wherein,

when a frequency of about 1 Hertz and an axial force of about 1.0 Newton are applied to the first adhesive layer and strain of the first adhesive layer is maintained at about 1 percent,

the first adhesive layer has, at about 25 degrees Celsius, a storage modulus of about 0.0560 megapascals to about 0.0612 megapascals, a loss modulus of about 0.0210 megapascals to about 0.0232 megapascals, and a tan delta value of about 0.3741 to about 0.3796,

the first adhesive layer has, at about 70 degrees Celsius, a storage modulus of about 0.0253 megapascals to about 0.0297 megapascals, a loss modulus of about 0.0101 megapascals to about 0.0123 megapascals, and a tan delta value of about 0.3970 to about 0.4151, and

the first adhesive layer has, at about 210 degrees Celsius, the storage modulus of about 0.0179 megapascals to about 0.0196 megapascals, the loss modulus of about 0.0038 megapascals to about 0.0044 megapascals, and the tan delta value of about 0.2135 to about 0.2238.

The carrier film of claim 1 , wherein the first protective film has, at about 70 degrees Celsius, a storage modulus of about 2451 megapascals to about 2611 megapascals, a loss modulus of about 99 megapascals to about 110 megapascals, and a tan delta value of about 0.0378 to about 0.0457 when a vibration having an amplitude of about 10 micrometers and a frequency of about 1 Hertz is applied to the first protective film and a force track is about 125 percent.

6 . The carrier film of claim 1 , wherein,

when a frequency of about 1 Hertz and an axial force of about 1.0 Newton are applied to the dummy adhesive layer and strain of the first adhesive layer is maintained at about 1 percent,

the dummy adhesive layer has, at about 25 degrees Celsius, a storage modulus of about 292 megapascals to about 310 megapascals, a loss modulus of about 3.5 megapascals to about 6.5 megapascals, and a tan delta value of about 0.012 to about 0.021, and

the dummy adhesive layer has, at about 70 degrees Celsius, the storage modulus of about 310 megapascals to about 334 megapascals, the loss modulus of about 2.9 megapascals to about 3.5 megapascals, and the tan delta value of about 0.009 to about 0.011.

7 . The carrier film of claim 1 , wherein

the panel protective film comprises at least one of polyimide, polyamide, aramid, polyethylene naphthalene, and polyethylene terephthalate,

the first protective film comprises at least one of polyethylene naphthalene and polyethylene terephthalate, and

the first adhesive layer and the dummy adhesive layer comprise an acrylic resin.

8 . The carrier film of claim 1 , wherein

the panel protective film has a thickness of about 10 micrometers to about 50 micrometers,

the first adhesive layer has a thickness of about 5 micrometers to about 18 micrometers,

the first protective film has a thickness of about 30 micrometers to about 75 micrometers, and

the dummy adhesive layer has a thickness of about 1 micrometers to about 10 micrometers.

9 . A carrier film comprising:

a first protective film;

a second protective film disposed on the first protective film;

a panel protective film disposed between the first protective film and the second protective film;

a dummy adhesive layer disposed between the first protective film and the panel protective film;

a first adhesive layer disposed between the panel protective film and the second protective film; and

a release agent coated on a bottom surface of the second protective film facing the panel protective film, the release agent having a thickness less than a thickness of the second protective film,

wherein the panel protective film has a thickness of about 10 micrometers to about 50 micrometers, the first adhesive layer has a thickness of about 5 micrometers to about 18 micrometers, the first protective film has a thickness of about 30 micrometers to about 75 micrometers, and the dummy adhesive layer has a thickness of about 1 micrometers to about 10 micrometers,

an adhesive strength of the first adhesive layer is greater than an adhesive strength of the dummy adhesive layer so that the dummy adhesive layer adheres to the first protective film more strongly than to the panel protective film, and

when the second protective film is separated, the first adhesive layer remains on an upper surface of the panel protective film, the first adhesive layer having a stronger adhesive strength than the dummy adhesive layer is attached to a lower surface of a substrate of the display panel, and then the dummy adhesive layer having a weaker adhesive strength than the first adhesive layer and the first protective film are removed from the panel protective film.

10 . The carrier film of claim 9 , wherein

a test speed of a tensile test of the panel protective film is about 5 millimeters per minute, and Young's modulus of the panel protective film is measured in a range of strain in which strain of the panel protective film is about 0.05 percent to about 0.5 percent, and

the panel protective film has the Young's modulus of about 4324 megapascals to about 4792 megapascals at about 25 degrees Celsius, and has the Young's modulus of about 3646 megapascals to about 3924 megapascals at about 85 degrees Celsius.

11 . The carrier film of claim 10 , wherein at about 25 degrees Celsius, stress of a yielding point of the panel protective film is about 59.49 megapascals to about 68.13 megapascals, and strain of the yielding point of the panel protective film is about 1.47 percent to about 1.54 percent.

The carrier film of claim 10 , wherein at about 85 degrees Celsius, the stress of the yielding point of the panel protective film is about 46.56 megapascals to about 51.58 megapascals, and the strain of the yielding point of the panel protective film is about 1.29 percent to about 1.49 percent.

The carrier film of claim 10 , wherein at about 210 degrees Celsius, the stress of the yielding point of the panel protective film is about 29.97 megapascals to about 31.34 megapascals, and the strain of the yielding point of the panel protective film is about 1.19 percent to about 1.26 percent.

14 . The carrier film of claim 10 , wherein the panel protective film has a storage modulus of about 2391 megapascals to about 2419 megapascals at about 25 degrees Celsius and a storage modulus of about 2181 megapascals to about 2237 megapascals at about 60 degrees Celsius when a vibration having an amplitude of about 10 micrometers and a frequency of about 1 Hertz is applied to the panel protective film and a force track is set to about 125 percent.
