Abstract

A system may include a transaction card reader configured to detect an identifier of a transaction card to be affixed to a card carrier, a card carrier reader configured to detect an identifier of the card carrier, a transaction card stager comprising a plurality of compartments each configured to hold a transaction card, and a processor. The processor may receive, from the transaction card reader, the identifier of the transaction card, receive, from the card carrier reader, the identifier of the card carrier, and determine whether the identifier of the transaction card corresponds to the identifier of the card carrier. Based on the determination that the identifier of the transaction card corresponds to the identifier of the card carrier, the processor may select a first compartment of the plurality of compartments to place the transaction card.

Claims (38)

1 . A system comprising:

a transaction card reader configured to detect an identifier of a transaction card to be affixed to a card carrier;

a card carrier reader configured to detect an identifier of the card carrier;

a transaction card stager comprising a plurality of compartments each configured to hold a transaction card;

one or more non-transitory computer-readable media comprising computer-readable instructions stored thereon which, when executed by one or more processors of the system, cause the one or more processors to:

receive, from the transaction card reader, the identifier of the transaction card;

receive, from the card carrier reader, the identifier of the card carrier;

determine whether the identifier of the transaction card corresponds to the identifier of the card carrier;

based on the determination that the identifier of the transaction card corresponds to the identifier of the card carrier, select a first compartment of the plurality of compartments to place the transaction card; and

move the plurality of compartments of the transaction card stager such that the transaction card is placed in the selected first compartment by aligning the first compartment with a position of a transaction card transporter; and

the transaction card transporter configured to place the transaction card into the first compartment for conveying the transaction card to be affixed to the card carrier.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of compartments is configured to receive transaction cards having a predetermined configuration.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the computer-readable instructions further cause the one or more processors to select the first compartment from the plurality of compartments based on a location on the card carrier where the transaction card is to be affixed to the card carrier.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the transaction card reader is configured to attach an adhesive to the transaction card.

5 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the transaction card stager is configured to hold the first transaction card without letting the adhesive touch a surface of the transaction card stager.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the transaction card transporter is further configured to transport the transaction card to a gantry for affixing to the card carrier.

7 . A non-transitory, computer-readable medium including computer-readable instructions which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:

receive, from a transaction card reader, an identifier of a transaction card;

receive, from a card carrier reader, an identifier of a card carrier;

determine whether the identifier of the transaction card corresponds to the identifier of the card carrier, and

based on the determination that the identifier of the transaction card corresponds to the identifier of the card carrier, select a first compartment of a plurality of compartments of a stager to place the transaction card; and

transmit a signal to the stager to move the plurality of compartments such that the transaction card is placed in the first compartment for conveying the transaction card to be affixed to the card carrier by aligning the first compartment with a position of a transaction card transporter.

8 . The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 7 , wherein each of the plurality of compartments is configured to receive transaction cards having a predetermined configuration.

9 . The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 7 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to select the first compartment from the plurality of compartments based on a location on the card carrier where the transaction card is to be affixed to the card carrier.

10 . The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 7 , wherein the transaction card reader is configured to attach an adhesive to the transaction card.

11 . The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the transaction card stager is configured to hold the first transaction card without letting the adhesive touch a surface of the transaction card stager.

12 . The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 7 , wherein the transaction card transporter is further configured to transport the transaction card to a gantry for affixing to the card carrier.

13 . A method comprising:

receiving, from a transaction card reader, an identifier of the transaction card;

receiving, from a card carrier reader, an identifier of a card carrier;

determining whether the identifier of the transaction card corresponds to the identifier of the card carrier, and

based on the determination that the identifier of the transaction card corresponds to the identifier of the card carrier, selecting a first compartment of a plurality of compartments of a transaction card stager to place the transaction card; and

moving the plurality of compartments such that the transaction card is placed in the first compartment for conveying the transaction card to be affixed to the card carrier by aligning the first compartment with a position of a transaction card transporter.

14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein each of the plurality of compartments is configured to receive transaction cards having a predetermined configuration.

15 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising selecting the first compartment from the plurality of compartments based on a location on the card carrier where the transaction card is to be affixed to the card carrier.

16 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the transaction card reader is configured to attach an adhesive to the transaction card.

17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the transaction card stager is configured to hold the first transaction card without letting the adhesive touch a surface of the transaction card stager.

18 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the transaction card transporter is further configured to transport the transaction card to a gantry for affixing to the card carrier.
