Dock leveler with supported deck hinge
A dock leveler for a loading dock. In some embodiments, the dock leveler may include a leg, a deck hinge bracket coupled to a top portion of the leg, a first stock plate coupled to the deck hinge bracket, and a deck hinge shaft coupled to the first stock plate. The first stock plate may extend upward from the deck hinge bracket and may extend along at least a portion of the length of the deck hinge bracket.
1 . A dock leveler, comprising:
a leg,
a deck hinge bracket coupled to a top portion of the leg,
a first stock plate coupled to the deck hinge bracket and extending vertically upward therefrom, wherein the first stock plate extends along at least a portion of a length of the deck hinge bracket; and
a deck hinge shaft disposed above and contacting a top portion of the first stock plate.
2 . A dock leveler, comprising:
a leg,
a deck hinge bracket coupled to a top portion of the leg,
a plurality of stock plates comprising a first stock plate, the first stock plate coupled to the deck hinge bracket and extending upward therefrom, wherein the first stock plate extends along at least a portion of a length of the deck hinge bracket, wherein each stock plate of the plurality of stock plates extends along the at least a portion of the length of the deck hinge bracket; and
a deck hinge shaft contacting the first stock plate.
3 . The dock leveler of claim 2 , wherein each of the plurality of stock plates is colinear.
4 . The dock leveler of claim 2 , wherein the plurality of stock plates extends along a majority of the length of the deck hinge bracket.
5 . The dock leveler of claim 4 , wherein the plurality of stock plates extends along a majority of a length of the deck hinge shaft.
6 . The dock leveler of claim 2 , wherein each of the plurality of stock plates is spaced from a neighboring stock plate.
7 . The dock leveler of claim 1 , further comprising one or more C-shaped brackets coupled to the deck hinge bracket, wherein the one or more C-shaped brackets are shaped to receive the deck hinge shaft.
8 . A dock leveler, comprising:
a leg,
a deck hinge bracket coupled to a top portion of the leg and comprising a bottom plate;
a first C-shaped bracket coupled to a top surface of the bottom plate;
a first stock plate extending vertically upward from the top surface of the bottom plate, wherein the first stock plate extends from a location proximate the first C-shaped bracket along a first portion of a length of the bottom plate; and
a deck hinge shaft disposed within the first C-shaped bracket, the deck hinge shaft disposed above and contacting a top portion of the first stock plate.
9 . The dock leveler of claim 8 , further comprising a second C-shaped bracket coupled to the top surface of the bottom plate of the deck hinge bracket and spaced from the first C-shaped bracket, wherein the deck hinge shaft is disposed within the second C-shaped bracket.
10 . The dock leveler of claim 9 , wherein the first stock plate is located between the first C-shaped bracket and the second C-shaped bracket such that the first stock plate provides continuous support to the deck hinge shaft between the first C-shaped bracket and the second C-shaped bracket.
11 . The dock leveler of claim 8 , wherein the deck hinge shaft extends from a first location proximate a first end of the deck hinge bracket to a second location proximate a second end of the deck hinge bracket.
12 . The dock leveler of claim 11 , wherein the first C-shaped bracket is coupled to the deck hinge bracket at a third location proximate the first end of the deck hinge bracket.
13 . A dock leveler, comprising:
a leg,
a deck hinge bracket coupled to a top portion of the leg and comprising a bottom plate;
a first C-shaped bracket coupled to a top surface of the bottom plate;
a first stock plate coupled to the top surface of the bottom plate, wherein the first stock plate extends from a location proximate the first C-shaped bracket along a first portion of a length of the bottom plate;
a deck hinge shaft disposed within the first C-shaped bracket and contacting a top of the first stock plate; and
a second stock plate coupled to the top surface of the bottom plate of the deck hinge bracket and extending along a second portion of the length of the bottom plate.
14 . The dock leveler of claim 13 , wherein the second stock plate is spaced from the first stock plate.
15 . The dock leveler of claim 14 , wherein the second stock plate and the first stock plate are colinear.
16 . A dock leveler for a loading dock, comprising:
a leg bracket assembly couplable to a back wall of the loading dock, comprising:
a leg,
a deck hinge bracket coupled to a top portion of the leg,
a stock plate coupled to the deck hinge bracket and extending vertically upward therefrom, wherein the stock plate extends along at least a portion of a length of the deck hinge bracket; and
a deck hinge shaft disposed above and contacting a top portion of the stock plate; and
a deck, wherein a back portion of the deck is rotatably coupled to the deck hinge shaft.
17 . The dock leveler of claim 16 , wherein the back portion of the deck comprises a first end and a second end, and wherein the deck hinge shaft extends from the first end to the second end.
18 . A dock leveler for a loading dock, comprising:
a leg bracket assembly couplable to a back wall of the loading dock, comprising:
a leg,
a deck hinge bracket coupled to a top portion of the leg,
a plurality of stock plates comprising a stock plate, the stock plate coupled to the deck hinge bracket and extending upward therefrom, wherein the stock plate extends along at least a portion of a length of the deck hinge bracket, wherein each stock plate of the plurality of stock plates extends along the at least a portion of the length of the deck hinge bracket;
a deck hinge shaft contacting the stock plate; and
a deck, wherein a back portion of the deck is rotatably coupled to the deck hinge shaft.
19 . The dock leveler of claim 18 , wherein each stock plate of the plurality of stock plates extends contacts the deck hinge shaft such that the deck hinge shaft is continuously supported by the plurality of stock plates.
20 . The dock leveler of claim 18 , wherein the plurality of stock plates extends along a majority of the length of the deck hinge bracket.
