Abstract

Articles of wear having one or more textiles that include a low processing temperature polymeric composition and a high processing temperature polymeric composition, and methods of manufacturing the same are disclosed. The low processing temperature polymeric composition and the high processing temperature polymeric composition can be selectively incorporated into a textile to provide one or more structural properties and/or other advantageous properties to the article. The textile can be thermoformed to impart such structural and/or other advantageous properties to the article of wear. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present disclosure.

Claims (39)

1 . An article of footwear comprising:

an upper comprising:

a textile comprising:

a first textile zone comprising a first re-flowed material comprising a low processing temperature polymeric composition;

a second textile zone comprising a yarn comprising a high processing temperature polymeric composition;

at least two sub-zones each comprising a different concentration of the first re-flowed material;

wherein a staggered interface extends between the at least two sub-zones; and

wherein a plurality of adjacent courses of the textile each comprise a transition from the yarn to the first re-flowed material, and wherein the transition is offset by at least one wale between the plurality of adjacent courses thereby forming the staggered interface.

2 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the upper comprises a first printed marking on at least a portion thereof.

3 . The article of footwear of claim 2 , wherein the first printed marking comprises a sublimation dye.

4 . The article of footwear of claim 2 , wherein the first printed marking comprises a screen printed marking.

5 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the upper comprises embroidery on at least a portion thereof.

6 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the at least two sub-zones are positioned between the first textile zone and the second textile zone.

7 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the first re-flowed material is dyed.

8 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the low processing temperature polymeric composition comprises one or more first thermoplastic polymers.

9 . The article of footwear of claim 8 , wherein the one or more first thermoplastic polymers comprise one or more thermoplastic polyamides, one or more thermoplastic polyurethanes, or both.

10 . The article of footwear of claim 9 , wherein the one or more first thermoplastic polymers comprise one or more thermoplastic polyether block amide (PEBA) copolymers.

11 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the high processing temperature polymeric composition comprises one or more second thermoplastic polymers.

12 . The article of footwear of claim 11 , wherein the one or more second thermoplastic polymers comprise one or more thermoplastic polyesters.

13 . The article of footwear of claim 12 , wherein the one or more thermoplastic polyesters comprise thermoplastic polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

14 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the first re-flowed material comprises a dye, and wherein the yarn is substantially free of the dye.

15 . The article of footwear of claim 1 , wherein the high processing temperature polymeric composition of the yarn comprises a dye, and wherein the first re-flowed material is substantially free of the dye.

16 . An article comprising:

a textile comprising:

a first textile zone comprising a first re-flowed material comprising a low processing temperature polymeric composition;

a second textile zone comprising a yarn comprising a high processing temperature polymeric composition; and

at least two sub-zones each comprising a different concentration of the first re-flowed material;

wherein a staggered interface extends between the at least two sub-zones; and

wherein a plurality of adjacent courses of the textile each comprise a transition from the yarn to the first re-flowed material and wherein the transition is offset by at least one wale between the plurality of adjacent courses thereby forming the staggered interface.

17 . The article of claim 16 , wherein the article is an article of footwear.

18 . The article of claim 16 , wherein the article is an article of apparel.

19 . The article of claim 16 , wherein the article is an article of sporting equipment.

20 . An upper for an article of footwear, the upper comprising:

a textile comprising:

a first textile zone comprising a first re-flowed material comprising a low processing temperature polymeric composition;

a second textile zone comprising a yarn comprising a high processing temperature polymeric composition; and

at least two sub-zones each comprising a different concentration of the first re-flowed material;

wherein a staggered interface extends between the at least two sub-zones; and

wherein a plurality of adjacent courses of the textile each comprise a transition from the yarn to the first re-flowed material, and wherein the transition is offset by at least one wale between the plurality of adjacent courses thereby forming the staggered interface.
