The luminaires may in particular be the following apparatuses, or the luminaires are part of existing apparatuses: alarm, shower cubicle, shower head, solar protection, rain protection, lamp, bed, signaling light, changing cubicle, vision protection, housing, emergency lighting, mirror, slabs, ceiling lights, radiator cladding, blinds, noise protection, umbrella, warning light.

Claims (36)

1 . A device comprising:

an organic light-emitting diode comprising:

an organic layer sequence;

a radiation exit area; and

an encapsulation;

wherein the organic layer sequence and the encapsulation are disposed on a carrier;

wherein the organic layer sequence comprises at least one radiation-emitting region configured to generate electromagnetic radiation in a spectral range from infrared radiation to UV radiation during operation;

wherein the organic layer sequence comprises an electron transport layer that is n-doped; and

wherein the organic layer sequence comprises an emission layer comprising an iridium-containing compound;

a gesture detection sensor operatively connected to the organic light-emitting diode and integrated into said device;

an evaluation circuit operatively connected to the organic light emitting diode and to the gesture detection sensor for evaluating signals received from the gesture detection sensor; and

wherein the organic light-emitting diode is operable by means of commands calculated by the evaluation circuit from inputs recorded by the gesture detection sensor.

2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the electron transport layer comprises 8-hydroxyquinolinolato-lithium.

3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein at least one part of the encapsulation is formed by an insulation layer, and

wherein the insulation layer comprises at least one of: resin, silicon oxide, silicon nitride.

4 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the encapsulation comprises a first encapsulation layer and a second encapsulation layer,

the first and the second encapsulation layer each having a respective volume structure,

wherein the volume structure of the second encapsulation layer is independent of the volume structure of the first encapsulation layer, and

the volume structure of the second encapsulation layer has a higher amorphicity than the volume structure of the first encapsulation layer.

5 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the organic light-emitting diode comprises a hole transport layer that is p-doped.

6 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein a color filter is arranged between the emission layer and the radiation exit area, and

wherein the color filter is configured to be highly transmissive for a first spectral subrange of the generated electromagnetic radiation and highly absorbant for a second spectral subrange of the generated electromagnetic radiation.

7 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the encapsulation is flexible.

8 . The device according to claim 7 , wherein the carrier comprises a film, a plastic film or a laminate.

9 . The device according to claim 1

wherein the device comprises at least one touch-sensitive operating element, and

wherein the at least one touch-sensitive operating element comprises at least one touch sensor.

10 . The device according to claim 9 , wherein the at least one touch sensor is integrated into the organic light-emitting diode.

11 . The device according to claim 10 , wherein the touch-sensitive operating element is arranged at the radiation exit area of the device.

12 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the organic light-emitting layer sequence comprises a cathode having a thickness of at least 1 nm and at most 50 nm.

13 . The device according to claim 12 , wherein the cathode comprises one of: silver, magnesium, or an alloy comprising silver and magnesium.

14 . The device according to claim 12 , wherein the cathode is in direct contact with a lithium containing layer.

15 . The device according to claim 12 , wherein the cathode comprises silver, magnesium, or an alloy comprising at least one of silver or magnesium.

16 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the electron transport layer comprises at least 8-hydroxyquinolinolato-lithium.

17 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein at least one part of the encapsulation is formed by an insulation layer, which can contain at least one of the following electrically insulating materials: resin, silicon oxide, silicon nitride, and wherein at least one part of the encapsulation is formed by a PECVD method.

18 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the organic light-emitting diode is configured for installation in a vehicle.
