Charging member with resin-based surface layer containing conductive inorganic particles
A charging member includes a support member, an elastic layer provided on the support member, and a surface layer provided on the clastic layer, in which the surface layer contains a resin, conductive particles, and non-conductive inorganic particles, and the surface layer contains 5 parts by mass or more and 40 parts by mass or less of the non-conductive inorganic particles relative to 100 parts by mass of the resin.
1 . A charging member comprising:
a support member, an elastic layer provided on the support member, and a surface layer provided on the elastic layer,
wherein the surface layer contains a resin, conductive particles, and non-conductive inorganic particles; and
the surface layer contains 5 parts by mass or more and 40 parts by mass or less of the non-conductive inorganic particles relative to 100 parts by mass of the resin.
2 . The charging member according to claim 1 , wherein the thermal conductivity of the non-conductive inorganic particles is 40 W/(m·k) or more.
3 . A charging device comprising the charging member according to claim 2 .
4 . A process cartridge comprising a photoreceptor, and a charging device that includes the charging member according to claim 2 and charges the surface of the photoreceptor, the process cartridge being detachable from an image forming apparatus.
5 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
a photoreceptor;
a charging device that includes the charging member according to claim 2 and charges the surface of the photoreceptor;
an electrostatic latent image forming device that forms an electrostatic latent image on the charged surface of the photoreceptor;
a developing device that develops the electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of the photoreceptor with a developer containing a toner to form a toner image; and
a transfer device that transfers the toner image to the surface of a recording medium.
6 . The charging member according to claim 1 , wherein the non-conductive inorganic particles contain at least one type selected from the group consisting of nitride particles, oxide particles, carbide particles, and boride particles.
7 . A charging device comprising the charging member according to claim 6 .
8 . A process cartridge comprising a photoreceptor, and a charging device that includes the charging member according to claim 6 and charges the surface of the photoreceptor, the process cartridge being detachable from an image forming apparatus.
9 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
a photoreceptor;
a charging device that includes the charging member according to claim 3 and charges the surface of the photoreceptor;
an electrostatic latent image forming device that forms an electrostatic latent image on the charged surface of the photoreceptor;
a developing device that develops the electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of the photoreceptor with a developer containing a toner to form a toner image; and
a transfer device that transfers the toner image to the surface of a recording medium.
10 . The charging member according to claim 1 , wherein the non-conductive inorganic particles contain at least one type selected from the group consisting of aluminum nitride particles, boron nitride particles, and magnesium oxide particles.
11 . A charging device comprising the charging member according to claim 10 .
12 . A process cartridge comprising a photoreceptor, and a charging device that includes the charging member according to claim 10 and charges the surface of the photoreceptor, the process cartridge being detachable from an image forming apparatus.
13 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
a photoreceptor;
a charging device that includes the charging member according to claim 10 and charges the surface of the photoreceptor;
an electrostatic latent image forming device that forms an electrostatic latent image on the charged surface of the photoreceptor;
a developing device that develops the electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of the photoreceptor with a developer containing a toner to form a toner image; and
a transfer device that transfers the toner image to the surface of a recording medium.
14 . The charging member according to claim 1 , wherein the average primary particle diameter of the non-conductive inorganic particles is 5 μm or more and 20 μm or less.
15 . A charging device comprising the charging member according to claim 6 .
16 . A process cartridge comprising a photoreceptor, and a charging device that includes the charging member according to claim 14 and charges the surface of the photoreceptor, the process cartridge being detachable from an image forming apparatus.
17 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
a photoreceptor;
a charging device that includes the charging member according to claim 10 and charges the surface of the photoreceptor;
an electrostatic latent image forming device that forms an electrostatic latent image on the charged surface of the photoreceptor;
a developing device that develops the electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of the photoreceptor with a developer containing a toner to form a toner image; and
a transfer device that transfers the toner image to the surface of a recording medium.
18 . A charging device comprising the charging member according to claim 1 .
19 . A process cartridge comprising a photoreceptor, and a charging device that includes the charging member according to claim 1 and charges the surface of the photoreceptor, the process cartridge being detachable from an image forming apparatus.
20 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
a photoreceptor;
a charging device that includes the charging member according to claim 1 and charges the surface of the photoreceptor;
an electrostatic latent image forming device that forms an electrostatic latent image on the charged surface of the photoreceptor;
a developing device that develops the electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of the photoreceptor with a developer containing a toner to form a toner image; and
a transfer device that transfers the toner image to the surface of a recording medium.
