Abstract

A method of privately sharing correlated state information on demand includes sharing a pair of entangled qubits between two nodes that are connected by a communication channel, wherein one qubit of the pair of entangled qubits is received by one of the two nodes and the other qubit of the pair of entangled qubits is received by the other of the two nodes. The one qubit of the pair of entangled qubits that is received by the one of the two nodes is stored in a quantum cache. Entanglement and coherence of the stored one qubit of the pair of entangled qubits is maintained in the quantum cache for subsequent unloading of the stored one qubit of the pair of entangled qubits, such that the unloaded stored one qubit of the pair of entangled qubits is coherent. A manipulation by a third party of the pair of entangled qubits is detected using a quantum key distribution protocol, thereby ensuring privacy of shared correlated state information from eavesdroppers. Classical data comprising classical information that is tagged to a particular qubit is stored, such that the one qubit of the pair of entangled qubits has associated classical information that is tagged to the one qubit of the pair of entangled qubits. The stored one qubit of the pair of entangled qubits is unloaded at a desired time that is based on the stored associated classical information that is tagged to the one qubit of the pair of entangled qubits. The unloaded stored one qubit of the pair of entangled qubits is measured. The shared correlated state information that is private from eavesdroppers based on the measurement is generated.
