Authentication in a virtual reality environment
This disclosure provides methods and systems for performing authentication in a virtual reality environment. In some implementations, the system receives a request for access to a virtual reality financial center requiring authentication from a user. The system can collect user identification information that identifies the user and verification information required to verify the user's identity via a virtual reality platform.
1 . A method comprising:
displaying, via a virtual reality device in communication with a virtual reality platform, at least one 3D virtual object in a randomized arrangement in a 3D virtual reality environment for a user to manipulate to provide an authentication credential to authenticate the user,
wherein the user receives a code, via a user device different from the virtual reality device, to provide as the authentication credential to authenticate the user;
detecting, via the virtual reality device, at least one hand of the user performing a manipulation of the at least one 3D virtual object in the 3D virtual reality environment;
monitoring, via the virtual reality device, the user manipulating the at least one 3D virtual object with the at least one hand in the 3D virtual reality environment; and
sending, via the virtual reality device to the virtual reality platform, the manipulation of the at least one 3D virtual object as the authentication credential for the user to access a virtual reality center, wherein the manipulation changes the at least one 3D virtual object from the randomized arrangement to an authentication arrangement that matches the code.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
displaying, via the virtual reality device in the virtual reality center, a visual representation of at least one financial account of the user, wherein the authentication credential is to authorize a transaction for the at least one financial account, and wherein the visual representation is in a currency or a metal.
3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
detecting, via the virtual reality device, the at least one hand of the user moving a currency from a first stack to a second stack,
wherein an amount of funds equivalent to the moved currency is transferred from a first financial account corresponding to the first stack to a second financial account corresponding to the second stack.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving, via the virtual reality device, biometric information of the user, wherein the biometric information includes the at least one hand of the user, a face of the user, or a fingerprint of the user.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the authentication credential is sent to the user prior to monitoring the user manipulating the at least one 3D virtual object.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one 3D virtual object is a die, and wherein the authentication credential comprises manipulating the die to match a pre-established authentication credential associated with the user.

8 . A system comprising:
one or more processors; and
one or more memories storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to perform a process comprising:
displaying, via a virtual reality device in communication with a virtual reality platform, at least one 3D virtual object in a randomized arrangement in a 3D virtual reality environment for a user to manipulate to provide an authentication credential to authenticate the user,
wherein the user receives a code, via a user device different from the virtual reality device, to provide as the authentication credential to authenticate the user;

monitoring, via the virtual reality device, the user manipulating the at least one 3D virtual object with the at least one hand in the 3D virtual reality environment; and
sending, via the virtual reality device to the virtual reality platform, the manipulation of the at least one 3D virtual object as the authentication credential for the user to access a virtual reality center, wherein the manipulation changes the at least one 3D virtual object from the randomized arrangement to an authentication arrangement that matches the code.
9 . The system according to claim 8 , wherein the process further comprises:
displaying, via the virtual reality device in the virtual reality center, a visual representation of at least one financial account of the user, wherein the authentication credential is to authorize a transaction for the at least one financial account, and wherein the visual representation is in a currency or a metal.
10 . The system according to claim 8 , wherein the process further comprises:
detecting, via the virtual reality device, the at least one hand of the user moving a currency from a first stack to a second stack,
wherein an amount of funds equivalent to the moved currency is transferred from a first financial account corresponding to the first stack to a second financial account corresponding to the second stack.
11 . The system according to claim 8 , wherein the process further comprises:
receiving, via the virtual reality device, biometric information of the user, wherein the biometric information includes the at least one hand of the user, a face of the user, or a fingerprint of the user.
12 . The system according to claim 8 , wherein the authentication credential is sent to the user prior to monitoring the user manipulating the at least one 3D virtual object.
13 . The system according to claim 8 , wherein the at least one 3D virtual object is a die, and wherein the authentication credential comprises manipulating the die to match a pre-established authentication credential associated with the user.
14 . The system according to claim 8 , wherein the authentication credential is a personal identification number used to authenticate the user to a website or to a mobile application.
15 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computing system, cause the computing system to perform operations comprising:
