Abstract

A method for dynamically presenting labels with the same information respectively to first and second users in a common extended reality environment includes displaying a first label with first text to a first user and a different second label with second text to a second user based on the respective positions of each user in the extended reality environment. The first user sees the first label without seeing the second label and the second user sees the second label without seeing the first label.

Claims (33)

1 . A method for dynamically presenting labels comprising:

displaying a first label with first text to a first user with a first extended reality display device and a different second label with second text to a second user with a second extended reality display device, wherein the first user and the second user are viewing a common extended reality environment, and wherein the first text and the second text include same information; and

displaying the first label to the first user at a first display position in the common extended reality environment based on the first user's position in the common extended reality environment and without displaying the second label to the first user; and

displaying the second label to the second user at a second display position in the common extended reality environment based on the second user's position in the common extended reality environment and without displaying the first label to the second user; and wherein the first display position is different from the second display position.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising changing a display of the first label to the first user when the first user's position changes.

3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising changing a display of the second label to the second user when the second user's position changes.

4 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising changing the display of the second label to the second user when the second user's distance from the second label changes.

5 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising:

displaying the first label based on the first user's distance in the common extended reality environment from an object associated with the first label and the second label, wherein the object is being viewed by both the first user and the second user in the common extended reality environment; and

displaying the second label based on the second user's distance from the object in the common extended reality environment.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the first label is displayed to the first user based on text size and font of the first label and wherein the second label is displayed to the second user based on text size and font of the second label.

7 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the first label is displayed to the first user based on text size and font of the first label and wherein the second label is displayed to the second user based on text size and font of the second label.

8 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising:

displaying the first label based on the first user's distance in the common extended reality environment from an object associated with the first label and the second label, wherein the object is being viewed by both the first user and the second user in the common extended reality environment; and

displaying the second label based on the second user's distance from the object in the common extended reality environment.

9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the first label is displayed to the first user based on text size and font of the first label and wherein the second label is displayed to the second user based on text size and font of the second label.

10 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the first label is displayed to the first user based on text size and font of the first label and wherein the second label is displayed to the second user based on text size and font of the second label.

11 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising changing the display of the first label to the first user when the first user's distance from the first label changes.

12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

displaying the first label based on the first user's distance in the common extended reality environment from an object associated with the first label and the second label, wherein the object is being viewed by both the first user and the second user in the common extended reality environment; and

displaying the second label based on the second user's distance from the object in the common extended reality environment.

13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the first label is displayed to the first user based on text size and font of the first label and wherein the second label is displayed to the second user based on text size and font of the second label.

14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the first label is displayed to the first user based on text size and font of the first label and wherein the second label is displayed to the second user based on text size and font of the second label.

15 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:

displaying the first label based on the first user's distance in the common extended reality environment from an object associated with the first label and the second label, wherein the object is being viewed by both the first user and the second user in the common extended reality environment; and

displaying the second label based on the second user's distance from the object in the common extended reality environment.

16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the first label is displayed to the first user based on text size and font of the first label and wherein the second label is displayed to the second user based on text size and font of the second label.

17 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the first label is displayed to the first user based on text size and font of the first label and wherein the second label is displayed to the second user based on text size and font of the second label.

18 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

displaying the first label based on the first user's distance in the common extended reality environment from an object associated with the first label and the second label, wherein the object is being viewed by both the first user and the second user in the common extended reality environment; and

displaying the second label based on the second user's distance from the object in the common extended reality environment.

19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the first label is displayed to the first user based on text size and font of the first label and wherein the second label is displayed to the second user based on text size and font of the second label.

20 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first label is displayed to the first user based on text size and font of the first label and wherein the second label is displayed to the second user based on text size and font of the second label.
