Abstract

One method of using a computer-implemented method of operating a drone device comprises receiving capture instructions at the drone device, the capture instructions identifying one or more subject faces occurring in a collection of images associated with an event, and capture priority information identifying a priority of capture of the one or more subject faces; and capturing an image including the one or more subject faces identified in the capture instructions.

Claims (55)

1 . A computer-implemented method of operating a drone device comprising:

receiving capture instructions at the drone device, the capture instructions identifying one or more subject faces occurring in a collection of images associated with an event, and capture priority information identifying a priority of capture of the one or more subject faces; and

capturing an image including the one or more subject faces identified in the capture instructions.

2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising:

coupling the drone device to a server device over a network using a network interface associated with the drone device;

receiving the capture instructions from the server device; and

sending the image to the server device.

3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more subject faces correspond to one or more subjects present at the event.

4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , wherein the one or more subjects present at the event correspond to one or more participants in a sharing pool, the sharing pool operable to share images captured at the event with the participants in the sharing pool.

5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein receiving the capture instructions comprises:

receiving event information defining the event, the event information including geographical boundary information and temporal boundary information; and

positioning the drone device based on the event information.

6 . The method of claim 1 further comprising:

positioning the drone device based on the capture instructions.

7 . One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a drone device, cause the drone device to perform the steps of:

receiving capture instructions at the drone device, the capture instructions identifying one or more subject faces occurring in a collection of images associated with an event, and capture priority information identifying a priority of capture of the one or more subject faces; and

capturing an image including the one or more subject faces identified in the capture instructions.

8 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 7 further comprising:

coupling the drone device to a server device over a network using a network interface associated with the drone device;

receiving the capture instructions from the server device; and

sending the image to the server device.

9 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 7 , wherein the collection of images forms a sharing pool at a server device, the sharing pool operable to share the collection of images with participants in the sharing pool.

10 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 7 , wherein the event is defined by characteristics including participant information, geographical boundary information, and temporal boundary information.

11 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 7 , wherein receiving the capture instructions comprises:

receiving geographical boundary information for the event; and

positioning the drone device based on the geographical boundary information.

12 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 7 , wherein receiving the capture instructions comprises:

receiving temporal boundary information for the event; and

positioning the drone device based on the temporal boundary information.

13 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 7 , wherein receiving capture instructions comprises:

receiving the capture priority information identifying a priority of geographic locations; and

capturing the image based on the capture priority information.

14 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 7 further comprising:

positioning the drone device based on the capture instructions.

15 . A drone device comprising:

one or more memories storing instructions; and

one or more processors that are coupled to the one or more memories and, when executing the instructions, are operable to perform the steps of:

receiving capture instructions at the drone device, the capture instructions identifying one or more subject faces occurring in a collection of images associated with an event, and capture priority information identifying a priority of capture of the one or more subject faces; and

capturing an image including the one or more subject faces identified in the capture instructions.

16 . The drone device of claim 15 further comprising:

a network interface coupled to the one or more memories and the one or more processors operable to perform the steps of:

coupling the drone device to a server device over a network using the network interface associated with the drone device;

the one or more processors that are coupled to the one or more memories and, when executing the instructions, are operable to perform the steps of:

receiving the capture instructions from the server device; and

sending the image to the server device for inclusion in a sharing pool.

17 . The drone device of claim 15 , wherein the one or more subject faces were determined by a server device by analyzing the collection of images to determine the one or more subject faces occurring in the collection of images.

18 . The drone device of claim 15 , wherein receiving the capture instructions comprises:

receiving event information defining the event, the event information including geographical boundary information and temporal boundary information; and

positioning the drone device based on the event information.

19 . The drone device of claim 15 further comprising:

enabling the image to be delivered to a user device associated with a subject corresponding to one of the one or more subject faces, wherein the subject is a participant in a sharing pool associated with the event.

20 . The drone device of claim 15 further comprising:

causing the image to be delivered to a server device for inclusion in a sharing pool associated with the event.

21 . The drone device of claim 15 further comprising:

positioning the drone device based on the capture instructions.
