Modular display apparatus and control method thereof
A display apparatus of a plurality of display apparatuses constituting a wall display includes a first board, a second board, and a plurality of display modules. The first board includes a first communication interface including a circuitry for wireless transmission, and a timing controller configured to, in response to information on an image being received, generate a plurality of driving signals for driving the plurality of display modules based on the received information and transmit the plurality of driving signals to the second board through the first communication interface. The second board includes a second communication interface including circuitry for wireless reception, a plurality of interfaces electrically connected to the plurality of display modules, and an IC chip configured to, based on the plurality of driving signals being received through the second interface, provide each of the received driving signals to each of the display modules.
1 . A display apparatus comprising:
a display;
a memory configured to store image information provided from an external apparatus and arrangement information of a plurality of display apparatuses including the display apparatus and another display apparatus;
a communication interface configured to be connected wirelessly with the another display apparatus among the plurality of display apparatuses; and
one or more processors configured to:
obtain the image information in the memory,
control the display to display a first portion area corresponding to the display apparatus among an entire area corresponding to the image information based on the arrangement information, and
transmit, through the communication interface, the image information wirelessly to the another display apparatus for displaying a second portion area corresponding to the another display apparatus adjacent to the display apparatus among the entire area corresponding to the image information.
2 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of display apparatuses constitutes a wall display.
3 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the entire area corresponding to the image information is displayed through the plurality of display apparatuses.
4 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors is further configured to:
control the display to display the first portion area corresponding to the display apparatus based on first identification information corresponding to the display apparatus stored in the memory.
5 . The display apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the one or more processors is further configured to:
identify the first portion area corresponding to the first identification information among the entire area corresponding to the image information, and
wherein the second portion area is identified based on second identification information corresponding to the another display apparatus.
6 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors is further configured to:
generate a first driving signal for displaying the first portion area through the display of the display apparatus, and
control the display to display the first portion area based on the first driving signal.
7 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the display includes a red Light Emitting Diode (LED), a green LED, and a blue LED.
8 . The display apparatus of claim 1 ,
wherein the display includes a micro Light Emitting Diode (LED) for emitting light without a color filter.
9 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
another communication interface configured to be connected with the external apparatus,
wherein the another communication interface is different from the communication interface, and
wherein the one or more processors is further configured to:
receive, through the another communication interface, the image information, and
store the image information in the memory.
10 . The display apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the another communication interface configured to be connected with the external apparatus through a cable.
11 . A method of controlling a display apparatus storing image information provided from an external apparatus and arrangement information of a plurality of display apparatuses including the display apparatus and another display apparatus, the method comprising:
obtaining the image information in the display apparatus; displaying a first portion area corresponding to the display apparatus among an entire area corresponding to the image information based on the arrangement information, and
transmitting the image information wirelessly to the another display apparatus for displaying a second portion area corresponding to the another display apparatus adjacent to the display apparatus among the entire area corresponding to the image information.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the plurality of display apparatuses constitutes a wall display.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the entire area corresponding to the image information is displayed through the plurality of display apparatuses.
14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the displaying the first portion area comprises:
displaying the first portion area corresponding to the display apparatus based on first identification information corresponding to the display apparatus stored in the display apparatus.
15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the displaying the first portion area comprises:
identifying the first portion area corresponding to the first identification information among the entire area corresponding to the image information, and
wherein the second portion area is identified based on second identification information corresponding to the another display apparatus.
16 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the displaying the first portion area comprises:
generating a first driving signal for displaying the first portion area through the display of the display apparatus, and
displaying the first portion area based on the first driving signal.
17 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the display includes a red Light Emitting Diode (LED), a green LED, and a blue LED.
18 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the display includes a micro Light Emitting Diode (LED) for emitting light without a color filter.
19 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the display apparatus further comprises:
a first communication interface configured to be connected with the external apparatus,
a second communication interface, which is different from the first communication interface, is configured to be connected wirelessly with the another display apparatus among the plurality of display apparatuses, and
wherein the method further comprising:
receiving, through the first communication interface, the image information, and
storing the image information in the display apparatus.
20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the first communication interface configured to be connected with the external apparatus through a cable.
