Method and apparatus for encoding/decoding in-screen prediction mode
An image decoding/encoding method and apparatus are discussed. The image decoding method can include decoding candidate mode set selecting information, selecting a candidate mode set based on the candidate mode set selecting information, decoding, in case the selected candidate mode set comprises two or more candidate modes, candidate mode selecting information, and selecting one candidate mode among at least one candidate mode included in the candidate mode set based on the candidate mode selecting information as an intra prediction mode of a current block.
1 . An image decoding method performed by a decoding apparatus, the method comprising:
decoding candidate mode set selecting information;
selecting a candidate mode set based on the candidate mode set selecting information;
decoding, in case the selected candidate mode set comprises two or more candidate modes, candidate mode selecting information; and
selecting one candidate mode among at least one candidate mode included in the candidate mode set based on the candidate mode selecting information as an intra prediction mode of a current block,
wherein the candidate mode set selecting information is information for selecting a candidate mode set used for deriving the intra prediction mode of the current block among candidate mode sets including a first candidate mode set and a second candidate mode set, each candidate mode set comprising one or more candidate modes,
wherein a left mode is an intra prediction mode of a left block adjacent to the current block and an upper mode is an intra prediction mode of an upper block adjacent to the current block,
wherein intra prediction modes include 2 non-directional intra prediction modes and 65 directional intra prediction modes,
wherein the second candidate mode set comprises a first intra prediction mode corresponding to an index value greater than an index value 50 of a vertical mode by 4 and a second intra prediction mode corresponding to an index value less than the index value 50 of the vertical mode by 4, for a case that the left mode is equal to the upper mode and the left mode is a planar mode,
wherein the second candidate mode set derived for the case that the left mode is equal to the upper mode and the left mode is the planar mode is equal to the second candidate mode set derived for a case that the left mode is equal to the upper mode and the left mode is a DC mode, and
wherein the second candidate mode set derived for a case that the left mode is not equal to the upper mode and the left mode is the DC mode and the upper mode is the planar mode is equal to the second candidate mode set derived for the case that the left mode is equal to the upper mode and the left mode is the planar mode.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein information including the candidate mode set selecting information and the candidate mode selecting information is configured by up to 6 bits.
3 . An image encoding method performed by an encoding apparatus, the method comprising:
determining a candidate mode set in which an intra prediction mode of a current block is included among candidate mode sets including a first candidate mode set and a second candidate mode set, each candidate mode set comprising one or more candidate modes;
encoding candidate mode set selecting information for selecting the candidate mode set in which the intra prediction mode of the current block is included; and
encoding, in case the candidate mode set in which the intra prediction mode of the current block is included comprises two or more candidate modes, candidate mode selecting information for selecting the intra prediction mode of the current block among the two or more candidate modes,
wherein a left mode is an intra prediction mode of a left block adjacent to the current block and an upper mode is an intra prediction mode of an upper block adjacent to the current block,
wherein intra prediction modes include 2 non-directional intra prediction modes and 65 directional intra prediction modes,
wherein the second candidate mode set comprises a first intra prediction mode corresponding to an index value greater than an index value 50 of a vertical mode by 4 and a second intra prediction mode corresponding to an index value less than the index value 50 of the vertical mode by 4, for a case that the left mode is equal to the upper mode and the left mode is a planar mode,
wherein the second candidate mode set derived for the case that the left mode is equal to the upper mode and the left mode is the planar mode is equal to the second candidate mode set derived for a case that the left mode is equal to the upper mode and the left mode is a DC mode, and
wherein the second candidate mode set derived for a case that the left mode is not equal to the upper mode and the left mode is the DC mode and the upper mode is the planar mode is equal to the second candidate mode set derived for the case that the left mode is equal to the upper mode and the left mode is the planar mode.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein information including the candidate mode set selecting information and the candidate mode selecting information is configured by up to 6 bits.
5 . A transmission method for image data, the method comprising:
obtaining a bitstream generated by an image encoding method, wherein the image encoding method determining a candidate mode set in which an intra prediction mode of a current block is included among candidate mode sets including a first candidate mode set and a second candidate mode set, each candidate mode set comprising one or more candidate modes, encoding candidate mode set selecting information for selecting the candidate mode set in which the intra prediction mode of the current block is included, and encoding, in case the candidate mode set in which the intra prediction mode of the current block is included comprises two or more candidate modes, candidate mode selecting information for selecting the intra prediction mode of the current block among the two or more candidate modes; and
transmitting the image data comprising the bitstream,
wherein a left mode is an intra prediction mode of a left block adjacent to the current block and an upper mode is an intra prediction mode of an upper block adjacent to the current block,
wherein intra prediction modes include 2 non-directional intra prediction modes and 65 directional intra prediction modes,
wherein the second candidate mode set comprises a first intra prediction mode corresponding to an index value greater than an index value 50 of a vertical mode by 4 and a second intra prediction mode corresponding to an index value less than the index value 50 of the vertical mode by 4, for a case that the left mode is equal to the upper mode and the left mode is a planar mode,
wherein the second candidate mode set derived for the case that the left mode is equal to the upper mode and the left mode is the planar mode is equal to the second candidate mode set derived for a case that the left mode is equal to the upper mode and the left mode is a DC mode, and
wherein the second candidate mode set derived for a case that the left mode is not equal to the upper mode and the left mode is the DC mode and the upper mode is the planar mode is equal to the second candidate mode set derived for the case that the left mode is equal to the upper mode and the left mode is the planar mode.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein information including the candidate mode set selecting information and the candidate mode selecting information is configured by up to 6 bits.
