Terrestrial network coverage assisted by non-terrestrial coverage
System and methods for modifying terrestrial coverage devices to provide mobile network coverage using information provided by one or more non-terrestrial coverage devices. Information gathered by one or more NTC devices (e.g., satellites) about user equipment (UE) serviced or detected by the NTC devices may be used by a mobile network to modify one or more characteristics of terrestrial coverage (TC) devices (e.g., base stations). A coverage agent receives UE information gathered about one or more UEs serviced or detected by the NTC device and provides the UE information to a coverage analyzer. The coverage analyzer uses the UE information to determine if partial or full network coverage can be shifted from the NTC device to the TC device by reconfiguring the TC device, potentially offloading some of the workload handled by the NTC device onto the TC device.
