Abstract

There is disclosed a method of operating a wireless device in a wireless communication network. The method includes performing beam switching based on a received first control information message, the first control information message indicating a target beam by indicating an entry in a measurement report. The disclosure also pertains to related devices and methods.

Claims (25)

1 . A method of operating a wireless device in a wireless communication network, the method comprising:

performing a beam switching determination based on a received first control information message, the first control information message having a signaling sequence corresponding to updating a beam selection to a target beam or staying at a current beam, the signaling sequence including an indicator in an entry of a measurement report.

2 . A wireless device for a wireless communication network, the wireless device configured to:

perform a beam switching determination based on a received first control information message, the first control information message having a signaling sequence corresponding to updating a beam selection to a target beam or staying at a current beam, the signaling sequence including an indicator in an entry of a measurement report.

3 . A method of operating a network node in a wireless communication network, the method comprising:

transmitting, to a wireless device, a first control information message for a beam switching determination, the first control information message having a signaling sequence corresponding to updating a beam selection to a target beam for beam switching or staying at a current beam, the signaling sequence including an indicator in an entry of a measurement report.

4 . A network node for a wireless communication network, the network node configured to:

transmit, to a wireless device, a first control information message for a beam switching determination, the first control information message having a signaling sequence corresponding to updating a beam selection to a target beam for beam switching or staying at a current beam, the signaling sequence including an indicator in an entry of a measurement report.

5 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the signaling sequence maps to the entry in the measurement report.

6 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first control information message indicates a measurement report identity.

7 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first control information message has a signaling format, the signaling format being a command type format.

8 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein performing the beam switching determination is based on a signaling characteristic of the first control information message.

9 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the signaling sequence is from a set of signaling sequences.

10 . A non-transitory computer storage medium storing a computer program comprising instructions causing processing circuitry to one or both control and perform a method, the method comprising:

performing a beam switching determination based on a received first control information message, the first control information message having a signaling sequence corresponding to updating a beam selection to a target beam or staying at a current beam, the signaling sequence including an indicator in an entry of a measurement report.

11 . The wireless device according to claim 2 , wherein the signaling sequence maps to the entry in the measurement report.

12 . The wireless device according to claim 2 , wherein the first control information message indicates a measurement report identity.

13 . The wireless device according to claim 2 , wherein the first control information message has a signaling format, the signaling format being a command type format.

14 . The wireless device according to claim 2 , wherein performing the beam switching determination is based on a signaling characteristic of the first control information message.

15 . The wireless device according to claim 2 , wherein the signaling sequence is from a set of signaling sequences.

16 . The method according to claim 3 , wherein the signaling sequence maps to the entry in the measurement report.

17 . The method according to claim 3 , wherein the first control information message indicates a measurement report identity.

18 . The method according to claim 3 , wherein the first control information message has a signaling format, the signaling format being a command type format.

19 . The method according to claim 3 , wherein the beam switching determination based on a signaling characteristic of the first control information message.

20 . The method according to claim 3 , wherein the signaling sequence is from a set of signaling sequences.
