Transmission of channel state information report for mobility enhancement
A method can include receiving, by a wireless device via a serving cell, first configuration parameters of a layer 1/2 triggered mobility (LTM) procedure and second configuration parameters of a power headroom reporting (PHR) procedure. The method can also include generating a layer 1 (L1) measurement report MAC CE in response to triggering an event-triggered L1 measurement reporting for the LTM procedure. The method can further include a PHR MAC CE in response to triggering the PHR. The method can additionally include determining that the L1 measurement report MAC CE is prioritized over the PHR MAC CE. The method can also include transmitting the L1 measurement report MAC CE based on the determination.
1 . A method comprising:
receiving, by a wireless device via a serving cell:
first configuration parameters of a layer 1/2 triggered mobility (LTM) procedure; and
second configuration parameters of a power headroom reporting (PHR) procedure;
generating:
a layer 1 (L1) measurement report MAC CE in response to triggering an event-triggered L1 measurement reporting for the LTM procedure; and
a PHR MAC CE in response to triggering a PHR;
determining that the L1 measurement report MAC CE is prioritized over the PHR MAC CE; and
transmitting the L1 measurement report MAC CE based on the determining.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the wireless device receives the first configuration parameters in one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages, wherein the first configuration parameters comprise:
configuration parameters of a plurality of candidate cells of the LTM procedure; and
configuration parameters of the event-triggered L1 measurement reporting for the LTM procedure.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein:
the wireless device triggers the PHR based on at least one of:
a PHR prohibit timer expiring and a path loss, of the serving cell, having changed more than a threshold after last transmission of the PHR;
a PHR periodic timer expiring; and
configuration or reconfiguration of the PHR procedure by upper layers; and
the PHR MAC CE comprises at least one of:
a type 1 power headroom;
a type 2 power headroom;
a type 3 power headroom; and
a power backoff value to meet maximum permissible exposure (MPE) requirements.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the LTM procedure comprises at least one of:
receiving a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) order, via the serving cell, indicating an early timing alignment (ETA) acquisition for a candidate cell;
transmitting a preamble via the candidate cell;
receiving an LTM cell switch command MAC CE indicating an LTM cell switch from the serving cell to the candidate cell; and
switching from the serving cell to the candidate cell based on the LTM cell switch command MAC CE.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising, based on the determining that the L1 measurement report MAC CE is prioritized over the PHR MAC CE, dropping transmission of the PHR MAC CE based on no remaining uplink grant being available for the transmission of the PHR MAC CE.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the wireless device triggers the event-triggered L1 measurement reporting for the LTM procedure based on at least one of:
a first layer 1 reference signal received power (L1-RSRP) value of a candidate cell being better than a second L1-RSRP value of the serving cell;
the first L1-RSRP value of the candidate cell being greater than a first threshold; and
the second L1-RSRP value of the serving cell being lower than a second threshold.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the L1 measurement report MAC CE comprises at least one of:
a first field indicating the candidate cell;
a second field indicating a reference signal (RS) identifier of a RS of the candidate cell; and
a third field indicating the first L1-RSRP value of the candidate cell.
8 . A wireless device comprising:
one or more processors; and
memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:
receive, via a serving cell:
first configuration parameters of a layer 1/2 triggered mobility (LTM) procedure; and
second configuration parameters of a power headroom reporting (PHR) procedure;
generate:
a layer 1 (L1) measurement report MAC CE in response to triggering an event-triggered L1 measurement reporting for the LTM procedure; and
a PHR MAC CE in response to triggering a PHR;
determine that the L1 measurement report MAC CE is prioritized over the PHR MAC CE; and
transmit the L1 measurement report MAC CE based on the determining.
9 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the wireless device receives the first configuration parameters in one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages, wherein the first configuration parameters comprise:
configuration parameters of a plurality of candidate cells of the LTM procedure; and
configuration parameters of the event-triggered L1 measurement reporting for the LTM procedure.
10 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein:
the wireless device triggers the PHR based on at least one of:
a PHR prohibit timer expiring and a path loss, of the serving cell, having changed more than a threshold after last transmission of the PHR;
a PHR periodic timer expiring; and
configuration or reconfiguration of the PHR procedure by upper layers; and
the PHR MAC CE comprises at least one of:
a type 1 power headroom;
a type 2 power headroom;
a type 3 power headroom; and
a power backoff value to meet maximum permissible exposure (MPE) requirements.
11 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the LTM procedure comprises at least one of:
receiving a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) order, via the serving cell, indicating an early timing alignment (ETA) acquisition for a candidate cell;
transmitting a preamble via the candidate cell;
receiving an LTM cell switch command MAC CE indicating an LTM cell switch from the serving cell to the candidate cell; and
switching from the serving cell to the candidate cell based on the LTM cell switch command MAC CE.
12 . The wireless device of claim 8 , further comprising, based on the determining that the L1 measurement report MAC CE is prioritized over the PHR MAC CE, dropping transmission of the PHR MAC CE based on no remaining uplink grant being available for the transmission of the PHR MAC CE.
13 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the wireless device triggers the event-triggered L1 measurement reporting for the LTM procedure based on at least one of:
a first layer 1 reference signal received power (L1-RSRP) value of a candidate cell being better than a second L1-RSRP value of the serving cell;
the first L1-RSRP value of the candidate cell being greater than a first threshold; and
the second L1-RSRP value of the serving cell being lower than a second threshold.
14 . The wireless device of claim 13 , wherein the L1 measurement report MAC CE comprises at least one of:
a first field indicating the candidate cell;
a second field indicating a reference signal (RS) identifier of a RS of the candidate cell; and
a third field indicating the first L1-RSRP value of the candidate cell.
15 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a wireless device, cause the wireless device to:
receive, via a serving cell:
first configuration parameters of a layer 1/2 triggered mobility (LTM) procedure; and
second configuration parameters of a power headroom reporting (PHR) procedure;
generate:
a layer 1 (L1) measurement report MAC CE in response to triggering an event-triggered L1 measurement reporting for the LTM procedure; and
a PHR MAC CE in response to triggering a PHR;
determine that the L1 measurement report MAC CE is prioritized over the PHR MAC CE; and
transmit the L1 measurement report MAC CE based on the determining.
16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the wireless device receives the first configuration parameters in one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages, wherein the first configuration parameters comprise:
configuration parameters of a plurality of candidate cells of the LTM procedure; and
configuration parameters of the event-triggered L1 measurement reporting for the LTM procedure.
17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein:
the wireless device triggers the PHR based on at least one of:
a PHR prohibit timer expiring and a path loss, of the serving cell, having changed more than a threshold after last transmission of the PHR;
a PHR periodic timer expiring; and
configuration or reconfiguration of the PHR procedure by upper layers; and
the PHR MAC CE comprises at least one of:
a type 1 power headroom;
a type 2 power headroom;
a type 3 power headroom; and
a power backoff value to meet maximum permissible exposure (MPE) requirements.
18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the LTM procedure comprises at least one of:
receiving a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) order, via the serving cell, indicating an early timing alignment (ETA) acquisition for a candidate cell;
transmitting a preamble via the candidate cell;
receiving an LTM cell switch command MAC CE indicating an LTM cell switch from the serving cell to the candidate cell; and
switching from the serving cell to the candidate cell based on the LTM cell switch command MAC CE.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , further comprising, based on the determining that the L1 measurement report MAC CE is prioritized over the PHR MAC CE, dropping transmission of the PHR MAC CE based on no remaining uplink grant being available for the transmission of the PHR MAC CE.
20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the wireless device triggers the event-triggered L1 measurement reporting for the LTM procedure based on at least one of:
a first layer 1 reference signal received power (L1-RSRP) value of a candidate cell being better than a second L1-RSRP value of the serving cell;
the first L1-RSRP value of the candidate cell being greater than a first threshold; and
the second L1-RSRP value of the serving cell being lower than a second threshold.
