Abstract

A second base station sends, to a first base station, a first message comprising configuration parameters of one or more target cells for a first mobility procedure in the second base station for a wireless device. The second base station sends, to the wireless device, a second message triggering the first mobility procedure toward one of the one or more target cells and based on the configuration parameters.

Claims (42)

1 . A base station comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the base station to:

send, to a master base station, a secondary node modification required message indicating to configure a layer 1 and/or layer 2 (L1/L2)-based mobility (LTM) procedure in the base station for a wireless device, wherein the secondary node modification required message comprises:

one or more identifiers of one or more target cells for the LTM procedure, and

configuration parameters for the LTM procedure of the wireless device; and

after sending the secondary node modification required message:

receive, from the wireless device, a layer 1 measurement report of the one or more target cells; and

send, to the wireless device, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) triggering the LTM procedure toward one of the one or more target cells.

2 . The base station of claim 1 , wherein the layer 1 measurement report comprises one or more measurement results of one or more reference signals configured by the configuration parameters.

3 . The base station of claim 1 , wherein the MAC CE comprises an identifier of the one of the one or more target cells.

4 . The base station of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the base station to determine the one or more target cells for the LTM procedure and the configuration parameters for the LTM procedure.

5 . The base station of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the base station to determine to perform the LTM procedure based on the layer 1 measurement report.

6 . The base station of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the base station to receive, from the master base station, a secondary modification confirm message indicating a completion of configuring the LTM procedure in the base station.

7 . The base station of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the base station to receive, from the wireless device, a message associated with a random access procedure.

8 . A method comprising:

sending, by a secondary base station to a master base station, a secondary node modification required message indicating to configure a layer 1 and/or layer 2 (L1/L2)-based mobility (LTM) procedure in the secondary base station for a wireless device, wherein the secondary node modification required message comprises:

one or more identifiers of one or more target cells for the LTM procedure; and

configuration parameters for the LTM procedure of the wireless device; and

after sending the secondary node modification required message:

receiving, by the secondary base station from the wireless device, a layer 1 measurement report of the one or more target cells; and

sending, by the secondary base station to the wireless device, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) triggering the LTM procedure toward one of the one or more target cells.

9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the layer 1 measurement report comprises one or more measurement results of one or more reference signals configured by the configuration parameters.

10 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the MAC CE comprises an identifier of the one of the one or more target cells.

11 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising determining the one or more target cells for the LTM procedure and the configuration parameters for the LTM procedure.

12 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising determining to perform the LTM procedure based on the layer 1 measurement report.

13 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising receiving, from the master base station, a secondary modification confirm message indicating a completion of configuring the LTM procedure in the secondary base station.

14 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising receiving, from the wireless device, a message associated with a random access procedure.

15 . A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

receive, from a master base station, a radio resource control (RRC) message based on a message sent by a secondary base station, wherein the message indicates to configure a layer 1 and/or layer 2 (L1/L2)-based mobility (LTM) procedure in the secondary base station for the wireless device, and comprises:

one or more identifiers of one or more target cells for the LTM procedure; and

configuration parameters for the LTM procedure of the wireless device; and

after receiving the RRC message that is based on the message:

send, to the secondary base station, a layer 1 measurement report of the one or more target cells; and

receive, from the secondary base station, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) triggering the LTM procedure toward one of the one or more target cells.

16 . The wireless device of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to perform the LTM procedure toward the one of the one or more target cells.

17 . The wireless device of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to send an RRC reconfiguration complete message based on receiving the RRC message.

18 . The wireless device of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to generate the layer 1 measurement report.

19 . The wireless device of claim 15 , wherein the layer 1 measurement report comprises one or more measurement results of one or more reference signals configured based on the configuration parameters.

20 . The wireless device of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to perform a random access procedure to the one of the one or more target cells after receiving the MAC CE.
