Abstract

A wireless device ( 12, 50 ) obtains a window of time for bundling of a set of uplink transmissions ( 20 ) on a carrier or bandwidth part. The wireless device determines whether or not to apply a timing advance adjustment ( 16 ) within the window of time. The timing advance adjustment comprises an adjustment to a transmission timing of an uplink transmission on the carrier or bandwidth part. The wireless device transmits the uplink transmission on the carrier or bandwidth part during the window of time using a transmission timing which is in accordance with the determining. The determining is based on whether the timing advance adjustment is indicated by a received timing advance command ( 18 ) or whether the timing advance adjustment is due to a detected error in downlink timing.

Claims (29)

1 . A method performed by a wireless device, the method comprising:

obtaining a window of time for bundling of a set of uplink transmissions on a bandwidth part, wherein the bundling is for keeping power consistency and phase continuity, wherein the bundling is demodulation reference signal (DMRS) bundling;

determining whether or not to apply a timing advance adjustment within the window of time, wherein the timing advance adjustment comprises an adjustment to a transmission timing of an uplink transmission in the set of uplink transmissions, wherein said determining comprises:

determining to apply the timing advance adjustment within the window of time if the timing advance adjustment is indicated by a received timing advance command; and

determining to not apply the timing advance adjustment within the window of time if the timing advance adjustment is due to a detected error in downlink timing; and

transmitting the uplink transmission on the bandwidth part during the window of time using a transmission timing which is in accordance with said determining.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining to not apply the timing advance adjustment within the window of time maintains phase consistency among uplink transmissions in the window.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining to apply the timing advance adjustment within the window of time causes phase consistency among uplink transmissions in the window of time not to be maintained.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the window of time is obtained based on a configuration received from a radio network node.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the window of time includes a bundle of time slots, wherein the uplink transmissions are to be performed during respective ones of the time slots in the bundle.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the set of uplink transmissions includes a set of Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) transmissions.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the wireless device is independently configurable whether to apply DMRS bundling for a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) and whether to apply DMRS bundling for a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH).

8 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium on which is stored a computer program comprising instructions which, when executed by at least one processor of a wireless device, causes the wireless device to carry out the method of claim 1 .

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining to not apply the timing advance adjustment within the window of time if the timing advance adjustment is due to a detected error in downlink timing comprises determining to defer the timing advance adjustment until after the window of time.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said determining comprises determining to not apply the timing advance adjustment within the window of time if the timing advance adjustment is due to an error in downlink timing that the wireless device detected from measurements of downlink signals.

11 . A wireless device comprising processing circuitry and memory, the memory containing instructions executable by the processing circuitry whereby the wireless device is configured to:

obtain a window of time for bundling for a set of uplink transmissions on a bandwidth part, wherein the bundling is for keeping power consistency and phase continuity, wherein the bundling is demodulation reference signal (DMRS) bundling;

make a determination of whether or not to apply a timing advance adjustment within the window of time, wherein the timing advance adjustment comprises an adjustment to a transmission timing of an uplink transmission in the set of uplink transmissions, wherein the determination is:

a determination to apply the timing advance adjustment within the window of time if the timing advance adjustment is indicated by a received timing advance command; and

a determination to not apply the timing advance adjustment within the window of time if the timing advance adjustment is due to a detected error in downlink timing; and

transmit the uplink transmission on the bandwidth part during the window of time using a transmission timing which is in accordance with the determination.

12 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein a determination to not apply the timing advance adjustment within the window of time maintains phase consistency among uplink transmissions in the window.

13 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein a determination to apply the timing advance adjustment within the window of time causes phase consistency among uplink transmissions in the window of time not to be maintained.

14 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the window of time is obtained based on a configuration received from a radio network node.

15 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the window of time includes a bundle of time slots, wherein the uplink transmissions are to be performed during respective ones of the time slots in the bundle.

16 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the set of uplink transmissions includes a set of Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) transmissions.

17 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the wireless device is independently configurable whether to apply DMRS bundling for a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) and whether to apply DMRS bundling for a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH).

18 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the determination is a determination to defer the timing advance adjustment until after the window of time if the timing advance adjustment is due to a detected error in downlink timing.

19 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the determination is a determination to not apply the timing advance adjustment within the window of time if the timing advance adjustment is due to an error in downlink timing that the wireless device detected from measurements of downlink signals.
