Abstract

The present application describes an apparatus including a non-transitory memory including instructions stored thereon. The apparatus also includes a processor operably coupled to the non-transitory memory configured to execute a set of instructions. The instructions include sensing plural devices in a group to provide sidelink coordination. The instructions also include evaluating a coordination type of each of the plural devices, where the coordination type is scheduled and/or assisted. The instructions also include obtaining transmission and reception resources for the plural devices. The instruction further include determining the transmission and reception resources are dedicated or shared among the plural devices based on the coordination type. The instructions even further include determining a signaling type for each of the plural devices based on the coordination type.

Claims (36)

1 . A first user equipment comprising a processor, a transceiver unit, and a storage unit, and configured to:

sense a plurality of user equipment in a group to provide sidelink coordination;

determine a coordination type for each of the plurality of user equipment, wherein the coordination type is scheduled and/or assisted;

obtain transmission and reception resources for each of the plurality of user equipment;

determine the transmission and reception resources are dedicated or shared among the plurality of user equipment based on the coordination type;

determine a signaling type for each of the plurality of user equipment based on the coordination type, wherein the signaling type includes different types of assistance information with different payload sizes;

determine whether a payload size for each of the plurality of user equipment, based on the determined signaling type, exceeds a predetermined threshold; and

wherein the signaling type is carried in sidelink control information (SCI) in a physical sidelink shared channel when the payload size is less than the predetermined threshold and a priority rank of the signaling type is above a predetermined level.

2 . The first user equipment of claim 1 , wherein the coordination type is scheduled for one of the plurality of user equipment and the coordination type is assisted for another one of the plurality of user equipment.

3 . The first user equipment of claim 1 , wherein the transmission and reception resources are shared.

4 . The first user equipment of claim 1 , configured to:

determine a priority of the plurality of user equipment based on the coordination type; and

allocate a first subset of the transmission and reception resources to a first one of the plurality of user equipment, and allocate a second subset of the transmission and reception resources to a second one of the plurality of user equipment.

5 . The first user equipment of claim 1 , further configured to receive a capability report from the plurality of user equipment indicating whether a new SCI format is required.

6 . The first user equipment of claim 1 , further configured to send the resources to a second user equipment of the plurality of user equipment along with a transmission/reception indicator in a SCI.

7 . The first user equipment of claim 6 , further configured to send decoding information to the second user equipment.

8 . The first user equipment of claim 1 , wherein the first user equipment is a gNode-B.

The first user equipment of claim 1 , wherein the signaling type is selected from assistance type information, scheduling type information, reserved, and combinations thereof, and wherein the assistance type information includes a type selected from one or more of a hidden node, exposed node, half duplex, or collision.

10 . A method, implemented in a first user equipment, comprising:

sensing a plurality of user equipment in a group to provide sidelink coordination;

determining a coordination type for each of the plurality of user equipment, wherein the coordination type is scheduled and/or assisted;

obtaining transmission and reception resources for each of the plurality of user equipment;

determining the transmission and reception resources are dedicated or shared among the plurality of user equipment based on the coordination type; determining a signaling type for each of the plurality of user equipment based on the coordination type, wherein the signaling type includes different types of assistance information with different payload sizes;

determining whether a payload size for each of the plurality of user equipment, based on the determined signaling type, exceeds a predetermined threshold; and

wherein the signaling type is carried in sidelink control information (SCI) in a physical sidelink shared channel when the payload size is less than the predetermined threshold and a priority rank of the signaling type is above a predetermined level.

11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the transmission and reception resources are shared.

12 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

determining a priority of the plurality of user equipment based on the coordination type; and

allocating a first subset of the transmission and reception resources to a first one of the plurality of user equipment, and allocate a second subset of the transmission and reception resources to a second one of the plurality of user equipment.

13 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

sending the resources to a second user equipment of the plurality of user equipment along with a transmission/reception indicator in a SCI.

14 . The method of claim 13 , configured to send decoding information to the second user equipment.

15 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the coordination type is scheduled for one of the plurality of user equipment and the coordination type is assisted for another one of the plurality of user equipment.

16 . The method of claim 10 , comprising receiving a capability report from the plurality of user equipment indicating whether a new SCI format is required.

17 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the first user equipment is a gNode-B.

18 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the signaling type is selected from assistance type information, scheduling type information, reserved, and combinations thereof, and wherein the assistance type information includes a type selected from one or more of a hidden node, exposed node, half duplex, or collision.
