Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for post-emergent weed control, which comprises applying an effective amount of a composition comprising herbicide A (component A), 2,4-D (component B) and optionally herbicide C (component C) to emerged weeds, or an area, where weeds are growing.

Claims (37)

1 . A composition comprising

A) herbicide A-1: ethyl 2-[2-[[3-chloro-5-fluoro-6-[3-methyl-2,6-dioxo-4-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidin-1-yl]-2-pyridyl]oxy]phenoxy]acetate; and

B) herbicide B: 2,4-D or an agriculturally acceptable salt or ester thereof;

wherein the weight ratio of herbicide A-1 to herbicide B is from 1:40 to 1:85, and

wherein application of an effective amount of the composition to weeds that are growing results in a synergistic effect in controlling the weeds.

2 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein herbicide B is selected from the group consisting of 2,4-D, 2,4-D dimethylammonium, and 2,4-D choline.

3 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises at least one herbicide C and the at least one herbicide C is saflufenacil.

4 . The composition of claim 2 , wherein the composition further comprises at least one herbicide C and the at least one herbicide C is trifludimoxazin.

5 . The composition of claim 2 , wherein the composition further comprises at least one herbicide C and the at least one herbicide C is glufosinate-P-ammonium.

6 . The composition of claim 3 , wherein herbicide B is 2,4-D dimethylammonium.

7 . The composition of claim 3 , wherein herbicide B is 2,4-D choline.

8 . The composition of claim 4 , wherein herbicide B is 2,4-D dimethylammonium.

9 . The composition of claim 4 , wherein herbicide B is 2,4-D choline.

10 . The composition of claim 5 , wherein herbicide B is 2,4-D dimethylammonium.

11 . The composition of claim 5 , wherein herbicide B is 2,4-D choline.

12 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises at least one herbicide C selected from the group consisting of saflufenacil, trifludimoxazin, and glufosinate-P-ammonium and wherein the weight ratio of herbicide A-1 to the at least one herbicide C is from 1:16 to 1:62.

13 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the weight ratio of herbicide A-1 to herbicide B is from 1:40 to 1:43.

14 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the weight ratio of herbicide A-1 to herbicide B is from 1:55 to 1:85.

15 . A method for post-emergent weed control, comprising applying an effective amount of a composition comprising

A) herbicide A-1: ethyl 2-[2-[[3-chloro-5-fluoro-6-[3-methyl-2,6-dioxo-4-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidin-1-yl]-2-pyridyl]oxy]phenoxy]acetate;

B) herbicide B: 2,4-D or an agriculturally acceptable salt or ester thereof; and

C) at least one herbicide C selected from the group consisting of saflufenacil, trifludimoxazin, and glufosinate-P-ammonium;

to an area where weeds are growing,

wherein the weight ratio of herbicide A-1 to herbicide B is from 1:40 to 1:85, and

wherein the method results in a synergistic effect of the composition in controlling the weeds.

16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein herbicide B is selected from the group consisting of 2,4-D, 2,4-D dimethylammonium, and 2,4-D choline.

17 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the at least one herbicide C is saflufenacil.

18 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the at least one herbicide C is trifludimoxazin.

19 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the at least one herbicide C is glufosinate-P-ammonium.

20 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the weight ratio of herbicide A-1 to herbicide C is from 1:16 to 1:62.

21 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the weight ratio of herbicide A-1 to herbicide B is from 1:40 to 1:43.

22 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the weight ratio of herbicide A-1 to herbicide B is from 1:55 to 1:85.

23 . The method of claim 15 , wherein herbicide A-1, herbicide B, and herbicide C are applied jointly.

24 . The method of claim 15 , wherein herbicide A-1 and herbicide C are formulated jointly, and herbicide B is formulated separately and applied jointly with herbicide A-1 and herbicide C.

25 . The method of claim 15 , wherein herbicide A-1 and herbicide B are formulated jointly, and herbicide C is formulated separately and applied jointly with herbicide A-1 and herbicide B.

26 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the weeds are selected from the families of Commelinaceae, Cyperaceae and Poaceae.

27 . The method of claim 15 , wherein herbicide A-1, herbicide B, and herbicide C are applied to crop plants which have been rendered tolerant to PPO-inhibiting herbicides.
