Abstract

Presented herein are compositions that can be administered to a subject having damaged tissue, for example a wound. The compositions are often administered in combination with administration of energy (e.g., laser energy, light from a light emitting diode, radiofrequency (RF) energy, audio frequency energy, etc.) from an energy generating device and/or system to the affected site. The compositions, systems, devices, and methods herein were found to induce wound healing and tissue regeneration.

Claims (24)

1 . A system for healing soft and/or hard tissue damage subsequent to an acute or chronic injury to an individual, the system comprising:

a power source; and

an energy source coupled to the power source, the energy source comprising a portable housing, a controller, a circuit board, and one or more emitters comprising one or more electrodes,

the housing configured to house the controller, circuit board, and the one or more emitters,

the housing comprising a contoured gripping handle, and a head portion,

the contoured gripping handle configured to house the controller and the circuit board, and the head portion comprising the one or more emitters,

the one or more emitters being arranged on an outer surface of the head portion and configured to be oriented toward the tissue damage; and

the controller configured to control the circuit board to cause the one or more emitters to emit energy at a frequency of 1 Hz to 150 kHz;

wherein:

the housing and the one or more emitters of the energy source are configured to be placed over, but not in contact with, the tissue damage such that the energy is directed from the one or more emitters away from the housing and toward the tissue damage across an air gap or a gel interface between the one or more emitters and the tissue damage, and an external electron flow from the one or more emitters of the energy source to the tissue damage causes healing at the acute or chronic injury;

the energy comprises electrons configured to be transferred into damaged tissue to heal the soft and/or hard tissue damage; and

hard and/or soft tissue comprises tissue from ectodermal, endodermal, and/or mesodermal origin that includes vasculature; skin; muscle; nerves; and/or bone.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the housing comprises one or more openings for the one or more emitters, and the one or more emitters of the energy source are configured to emit energy having a power of 0.1 W to 5 W per opening or emitter of the housing.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the housing comprises one or more openings for the one or more emitters, and the one or more emitters of the energy source are configured to emit energy having a frequency of 40 Hz to 150 kHz per opening or emitter of the housing.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the energy source is configured to emit energy having a power of 0.2 W to 4 W per opening.

5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the housing comprises one or more openings for the one or more emitters, and the one or more emitters of the energy source are configured to emit energy having a power of 0.2 W to 4 W, and a frequency of 50 Hz to 75 kHz per opening or emitter of the housing.

6 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a second energy source coupled to the power source, the second energy source configured to generate a beam of light that has a wavelength selected from the group consisting of from about 520 nm to about 570 nm, from about 620 nm to about 750 nm, from about 750 nm to about 1400 nm, and from about 570 nm to about 590 nm.

7 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a second energy source coupled to the power source, the second energy source configured to generate a beam of light having a wavelength in a visible portion of an electromagnetic spectrum between 400 nm-1400 nm wavelength or an infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum.

8 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the second energy source is fiber optic, comprises a diode laser, or comprises a light emitting diode (LED), and wherein the wavelength is selected from a group consisting of an infrared wavelength range, a green wavelength range (520-570 nm), a red wavelength range (620-750 nm) and a yellow wavelength range (570-590 nm).

9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the energy source emits photonic electrons and/or electrons that absorb into outer orbitals of atoms of damaged tissue and produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP).

10 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the tissue damage comprises a wound, and transferring the electrons into the wound heals the wound.

11 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising an aqueous or gel substrate configured to be placed in, on, or near the tissue damage to enhance tissue regeneration, the substrate comprising calcium and/or hyaluronic acid.

12 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the controller comprises a raspberry pi computing module.

13 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the housing comprises a plurality of openings for the one or more emitters, with the plurality of openings arranged in a pattern that corresponds to one or more patterns in the hard and/or soft tissue damage.
