Vehicle-to-road technology for alignment, stopping, slowing, and slipping by electromagnetic forces
Structures, systems, and methods for vehicle-to-road technology for one or more of alignment, stopping, slowing, and slipping by electromagnetic forces, including a road system, comprising a road having a longitudinal axis and containing ferrous material positioned in a pattern aligned with the longitudinal axis, the pattern configured to, when the ferrous material is magnetized, generate a magnetic force such that a vehicle on the road is guided by the magnetic force. In some implementations, the pattern may be configured to, when the ferrous material is magnetized, generate the magnetic force such that the vehicle on the road is guided by the magnetic force in a predetermined direction. The ferrous material may be configured to change between a magnetized state and an unmagnetized state based on application of an electrical current to the ferrous material.
1 . A road system, comprising:
a road having a longitudinal axis and containing ferrous material positioned in a pattern aligned with the longitudinal axis, the pattern configured to, when the ferrous material is magnetized by receiving an electrical field current from an electrical charging device, generate a magnetic field such that a vehicle that is slipping on the road is pulled by an electromagnetic force of the magnetic field in a predetermined direction by the electromagnetic force, thereby using the electromagnetic force directly on the vehicle while the slipping is occurring, in real time, to, one or more of: correct the slipping of the vehicle, realign the vehicle with the road, slow the vehicle, and stop the vehicle; and
wherein the ferrous material when magnetized by the electrical field current has a reduced strength magnitude following the inverse square law as related to distance from the ferrous material.
2 . The road system of claim 1 , wherein the road has a lane, and wherein the predetermined direction is toward the center of the lane of the road.

The road system of claim 1 , further comprising a vehicle having a brake rotor configured to act on a shaft, and wherein the magnetic force of the ferrous material positioned in the pattern, when magnetized, is configured to pull the vehicle on the road in a predetermined direction to slow or stop the vehicle by creating a magnetic resistant force on the brake rotor.
4 . The road system of claim 1 , wherein the ferrous material is configured to change between a magnetized state and an unmagnetized state based on application of an electrical current to the ferrous material.
5 . The road system of claim 4 , further comprising a vehicle having a solenoid, and wherein the solenoid of the vehicle is configured to apply the electrical current to the ferrous material.
6 . The road system of claim 1 , further comprising a vehicle having a magnetic source, and wherein the magnetic force generated by the road is a sink of a magnetic system, configured to act on the magnetic source in the vehicle.
7 . The road system of claim 1 , wherein the ferrous material comprises one or more of: silicon-iron, permalloy, and soft ferrite.
8 . The road system of claim 5 , wherein the ferrous material is configured to be magnetized and de-magnetized by changing a polarity of the ferrous material through application of the electrical current from the solenoid.
9 . The road system of claim 1 , wherein the pattern is configured to generate an increased electromagnetic force of the magnetic field when an increased electric field current is applied to the ferrous material.
10 . A method, comprising:
magnetizing ferrous material in a road of a road system by receiving an electrical field current from an electrical charging device, the ferrous material positioned in a pattern aligned with a longitudinal axis of the road, thereby generating a magnetic field in the road such that a vehicle that is slipping on the road is pulled by an electromagnetic force of the magnetic field while the slipping is occurring in real time in a predetermined direction by the electromagnetic force, and thereby using the magnetic force directly on the vehicle to, one or more of: correct the slipping of the vehicle, realign the vehicle with the road, slow the vehicle, and stop the vehicle; and
wherein the ferrous material when magnetized by the electrical field current has a reduced strength magnitude following the inverse square law as related to distance from the ferrous material.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the road has a lane, and wherein the predetermined direction is toward the center of the lane of the road.
12 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the road system comprises a vehicle, and wherein the vehicle has a shaft and has a brake rotor configured to act on the shaft, and wherein the vehicle on the road is pulled by the magnetic force to slow or stop the vehicle by creating a magnetic resistant force on the brake rotor.
13 . The method of claim 10 , comprising:
changing the ferrous material between a magnetized state and an unmagnetized state based on application of an electrical current to the ferrous material.
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the road system comprises a vehicle having a solenoid, and wherein the electrical current is supplied by the solenoid of the vehicle.
15 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the road system comprises a vehicle having a magnetic source, and wherein the magnetic force generated by the road is a sink of a magnetic system, configured to act on the magnetic source in the vehicle.
16 . The method of claim 10 , comprising:
increasing an electric field current to the ferrous material, thereby increasing strength of the electromagnetic force of the magnetic field.
