System, devices and methods for measuring a fill level in containers
A system, measuring device and related methods for measuring a fill level in a container or tank are disclosed. The measuring device utilizes high-frequency signals for sensing a fill level in a tank filled with a liquid such as, for example, liquefied petroleum gas, in particular propane and butane, oxygen, nitrous oxide and anesthesia, CO 2 , nitrogen, gas air, helium, generally liquefied gases, but also water, oils, or any other liquid either pressurized or not pressurized. The measuring device being capable of communicating wirelessly and remotely with other devices in the system to calculate and communicate the fill level in the container.
1 . A measuring device for measuring the fill level of a liquid gas inside a container, comprising:
a measuring device body comprising a top case with a sensor recess and a bottom case configured to be mounted to the top case;
a detachable sensor assembly configured to be coupled in the sensor recess;
a coupling agent configured to couple the detachable sensor assembly to the container independently of the measuring device body;
an ultrasonic transducer mounted to the bottom case;
a magnet enclosing the ultrasonic transducer;
and a plurality of pins configured to connect the detachable sensor assembly to the measuring device body,
wherein the detachable sensor assembly comprises a lid having a plurality of ribs,
wherein the detachable sensor assembly comprises an adhesive and is configured to be mounted to the container by the adhesive, and
wherein the detachable sensor assembly is configured to snap fit with the recess.
2 . A system for measuring the fill level of a liquid gas inside a container, comprising:
the measuring device of claim 1 ;
at least one sensor assembly;
a Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) server;
a database;
at least one mobile device; and
a main control unit configured to control the measuring device and the sensor assembly;
wherein the measuring device is configured to communicate with the at least one mobile device through a communication network, and
wherein the main control unit is configured to control the measuring device and the sensor assembly based on parameters stored in the MQTT server, the database or the mobile device, the parameters communicated to the main control unit via the mobile device.
